Our love was a flower, delicate and rare,
Its petals soft, its beauty beyond compare,
We nurtured it with love and tender care,
And it blossomed with a fragrance so fair.

Our dreams were woven like threads in a loom,
A tapestry of life we'd build, with love to consume,
But now the threads unravel, and the colors assume,
A monochromatic hue, a life of gloom.

Our love was like a bird, with wings to soar,
And we flew together, free, our hearts to explore,
But now the bird has flown, and I'm on the shore,
Watching it fade into the sunset, forevermore.

The ache in my heart is a thorn in my side,
The pain of love lost, a wound that won't subside,
But I'll keep the memories, like a treasure to hide,
And let my heart heal, with time as my guide.

Our love was a flower, that withered away,
A bird that flew, and chose not to stay,
But in my heart, it will forever lay,
A symbol of love, that I'll cherish each day.
a poem for the one who broke my heart yesterday
