The Line
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
Someone told me if I can't have you
No one can
Another told me if you love it
Set it free
There is a fair line between love and obsession
Love can cause pain to both like wrapping a cut in cloth
It bleeds and leeches you try as slow as a sloth
It brings you joy
Maybe I should stop playing coy
Obsession it causes pain to one or to both
Hurts so much that you deprive the other
Like a malnourished calf drinking from and utter
Maybe i should just close the shutters
Because if these were the two emotions I felt
I would lash myself with a belt
Love brings Pain
Pain brings Hate
And hate creates a coldhearted individual
But obsession brings pain
And that pain brings pleasure for one person
And if constantly done
Like how a clock strikes one
The spent time
Would make pain a crime

Beast of The Night
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
As dark as the day,as bright as the night
When there is moonlight we beast have colored sight
Some colors red,blue and green
A full moon makes us very mean
We hunt in packs
We are more than three
Destruction and Death is what we bring
Searching for meat in our crimson raid
We are the creatures of the night
So beware when we meet we will fight
For you will be stun by our color of sight

There Is No Love
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
For one that will never see his love again
He acts very tame
He switched his love for war and fame
But the one he loves
Wouldn't be claimed
It might be a mystery
Why he joined the army
Maybe the scent of gun powder and oil bring him a sense of glory
But there is no love in war so it's always a tragedy
Because chaos and destruction holds no boundaries
The difference between love and war
Is like trying to defy gravity
It can't be done, you have to choose one
Even if it hurts you
At least try to be aware
OF the things you do

Another Life
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
As time past by
Growing up all I heard were lies
Of how they would never leave
SO as I saw one man roll up his sleeve
As he destroyed the things that were created
All I could do was stand and watch
As he treated
My brethren with such cruelty and precisiviness
All they're lives being hacked away
Only because they didn't do their jobs
If only I could walk or jog
I would rid myself of this place
But I have no feet for I am in the ground
Guess I am half way in my grave
But it gets deeper  because all I do is dig
Maybe I should regret and repent
For not being able to do anything for my family
The man comes to me
Begging me to bare fruit
If only I had thorns
I would rip and cut him
But i cannot
For if I die there will be no one

Infectious Pain
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
The pain in my heart
Your the only one that ripped it apart
You showed no mercy
Now I'm like a cage bird wanting to be set free
My heart is bonded by chains
It only brings me more pain
But I love the pain
I know it might seem strange
I have a very complicated sanity range
That's why I'm still with you
I thought you had cured me to
But all you did was give me a pill
And forced me to take it against my will
Saying I feel better afterwards
I didn't know you were pretending
Now the infection is spreading
Gone to my heart
Another symptom of the pill you made me take
Now I'm awake all night
Knowing you might not come back
The pill you made me took is still in my system
But I will wait until the infection is blistering
Maybe then you will start listening

Heavy
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
The burden that you hold
Can eat you whole
And swallow your soul
For it is a bucket of negativity
and it's getting heavy
You lurk for that positivity
Like a ray of sun shinning through the darkness
But as you find as you get deeper into the dark
The light has disembarked
Now as you are caught in the bad words
Like idiot or fool
Maybe the only thing you can do
Or more like should do
Is forget those people
Forget the negativity they bring
Because your bucket of negativity is fulling to the brim
When the burden gets to heavy
It would leave you severed and broken down
Like a current pulling you underwater
Causing you to drown
Instead of positivity lifting you up like a king putting on his crown
You see that you give into negativity
The trumpets you see will make no sound
The positivity and negativity is all around
Might hurt to hold it but you will make it each round

The Forbidden Word
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
The word love is a switch play
People say I love you and think it's a game
Don't understand when your in love
You feel like a dove
Flying high and free
It's like feeling a cold breeze
So as it pass by you get goosebumps
Put people like me were stumped
Like the speed of a car going over a ****
It's a slow process
One that I know best
Today I'm careful
Tomorrow I'm fearful
And for the rest of my life I'd be faithful
For if i see a girl that takes love seriously
Then I will let down my walls willing and freely
But now that word is like a curse
Or a virus on a main course

The Feeling
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
I know you wait on but instead
We're both still angry at the things we said
Knowing we love each other so much
I wonder how can we think of such
You turn me on when I'm near
When I'm lying in your bed, you give me a certain type of fear
I try to take your clothes off slowly
Not knowing I'd grow impatient and leave them with holy
For when me and your body meets
It's as if everything slowed down
Like we're under the sea
To show I love you
I'd be soft and gentle
You breathing down my neck it starts to tickle
As you lick it like a pop sickle
This may sound wrong
But i love how our bodies move like the rhythm to a song

Truth in War
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
The wolf howls to moon
Its' a cry to the wolves that lost their lives in the war
Soon it shall join it's brothers in the stars
For war leaves a scar that cannot heal
And keeps a pretentious smell of iron and steel
For it is all the wolf knows
Addicted to war
They all fight for peace
But there will never be any
The moral of to day
It might burn like fire coral
But it is the only way to make them stay
One sound to make them disengage
A retreat would be called
The wolf would crawl
The felt off a piece of iron passing by
You look to your side
Your brother there looking at the sky
But you survived
And you wonder why
Maybe so you can tell the tales of how your brothers died

The Loner
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
The effort shown
For something you own
To make something so beautiful wilt away
Instead of wanting it to stay
To nurture and care for it
Face that you make when you throw it in a pit
And as you stay there and sit
Just to wait until it's beauty had decayed
And who would tell you different
You do that to others just different sequences
But you define retaliation
With hatred for beauty
Thinking its the only thing keeping you sanity
But its unsanitary
The stain that you left
As it decays
It wishes you the best
It pleads with you to not hurt the rest
But you have that scar in your chest
Where your heart should be
Shutting out everyone
And a life like that is lonely

The Crimson Lust
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
We are the dead
We come back to life
Only in the taste of blood we quench our thirst
So instinct is to go for the neck first
With our fangs we'll **** you dry
Turning you white and pale
Like the moonlight shining on kale
Please do not judge us by our appetite
For now we are undead and we hate the light
Making us hunt everynight
For this is our only way
To survive
And to thrive

Dream Killer
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
With this metal glove
And history of death
He killed little children
It helped with his health
The people burnt down his house
Since his death he has been silent as a mouse
He still targets children
But in there dreams
For it had been a blood stream
A series of killings
But only one person was willing
To bring him out the dream
And finish him at will
For Freddy was so scared he stood still
For everyone he killed he never repent
So they brought Jason and there he was sent
Back to hell
And survivors a story to tell

Light Pierced the Dark
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
A bright clay for a Sunday
It might be hot but I can't stay away
I'm the darkness ,so your light strips my aura away
It may be forbidden for dark and light to touch
But we don't see it as such
They say I'm evil
They say your good
But I don't understand why they treat me as if I'm tainted
To treat someone who is trying to change, makes your heart cold
But I can't blame you that was what you were told
But there are rumors
The Light find it full of humor
But the dark hates the light
Because it left us in sore sight
But me I love the light
How bright and luminescent it is
Every time I see it,I get a hint of paralysis
But for the dark, thinking it is a crisis falling for the light
But *** can I hate such a beautiful sight
For my love she shines so bright
I will always see you
I remain a shadow and you be the light

Fame or Shame
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
Write lyrics on a page
And the director would make a play and put you on stage
But for us who were once tame
Were confuse and corrupted by fame
And because of that we felt great pain
This pain isn't the same as a cut or a stick
Our pain is mental
Not physical
For we lose families
To thieves or robbers
Masked cults or serial killers
For criminals
Fame is just a gmae
SO to have fame
To let go of being tame
Continuously being shamed
Causes much pain

Equals
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
We might be equals
But we are different
Same strength
Same weakness
But different teachings and understandings
It is what were are thought that defines us
Freedom our way
Captivity yours
Though we are different races
It doesn't make us right
To do God's job and judge
For we are not one with him until we past his test
Judgement day is coming and we'll be laid to rest
We rebel and retaliate like horses at a sound of a whip
We go forward, but you are evil enough to make us trip
To trip and old man because of different race and nationality
This act is not decent or a sign of formality
But we will judge for our own sake
We will fight with our wood and metal stakes
To make things clear we will not go down easy
Leaving yourselves open,so please be weary
For we will strike when the time is best
And leave history to the rest

Roots
Jelani Griffith Sep 2017
This is not the time to remember
For we are now a member
Of the ones that are forgotten
From ancient memories
From ancient places
We were taken from different paces
For our history is not just
But storytellers have a lust
Of changing history
So they make it easy with a theory
That if you want to know something about history
Go back to there roots
Some people had mistakenly went to the shoot
And only got half of the story
And therefore have false theories
