She could never see herself with someone with brown eyes and dark hair for she was always admiring green eyes and sandy blond waves but look at her now, melting with every word he says.

They never knew that a chance meeting would start something breathtaking.

She never thought that her friends “everything” would one day be her “everything” for which the process of discovering the love she never knew would cost her that same friend.

They were the perfect example of being in the right place at the wrong time.

She never thought the right time would come so she let her “silly little crush” go for he was older than her and it would probably take a miracle for him to ever look her way.

They started off as less than friends.

She never thought that she would be out past 12:00 pm looking at her friend on a street corner betting 20 dollars that he doesn’t like her like that after a cryptic text they spent 25 minutes trying to figure out.

They grew close in a matter of days that felt like years that felt like decades.

She never thought that just like that she would be sitting eating pizza with the guy that wasn’t hers to love for he is now sitting in front of her talking about his future and his life and why he got mad at his teacher that day and now his favourite pizza is now her favourite pizza (buffalo chicken with green peppers in case you wanted to know).

They never knew that would be walking hand in hand both smiling like the joker

She never thought she could love someone so much for no one ever showed her this kind of love. This love was new and different than the obligational love she deemed necessary to extend to her family who never really cared, or just never cared to ask.

They were the same in every way yet different in every other way

She always thought her life would be a dismal disappointment, that trying was useless. Then she met him and things were worth trying again. She wants to try for him for he causes fires inside her in places that have never known light

Neither of them thought she would be standing pressed against him, looking into those deep dark eyes that she will probably love for the rest of her life, saying one word,
“breathtaking”.
