I can fly higher than
A sycamore tree
I can see further
Than
An eagle
high, On wing
I can smell the musty Garm
 that treads on Heavy paws
I can hear the
Tip tap
of
It's claws
I feel the shadow
Drift across my Grave
I see the blind begger
Shake his cup
His eyes sunken
Shriveled up
I can taste the

Sweet mixture
Of
Young virgins full of lust
Picking fruit
For the harvest
I feel hope slip
I feel a tear fall
Upon my lips
Salty
Yet pure
Enough to stop
Me feeling
Ashamed
For my senses
Are heighten
And I can receive
The message On high As high as
The sycamore tree.

I've been sad
I know we've all been sad
Sadness
I have no need for
anymore
I want someone to blame
But blame
don't explain
Why
at the end of  the day
You can cry..
You deserve
to feel
But don't feel
You've earned
This pain
Forgive and forget
That's what those
Away from the scene
Say
Forgive and forget
To forgive
Is divine
I don't walk on water
But now I walk alone
And alone
Is no way
To be
We have the right
To be happy
Come and be
The change
The change you
Want to see.

Them thar hills
Them thar hills
I used to
Roam
As a child
Them thar hills
They were green and they were
Near
During my youth they were there
Them thar hills
Them thar hills are rolling high
Struggles deep
and wide
Them thar hills
In their shadow I kissed my bride
Years moved on by and by
By
Them thar hills
Broken ridge like a broken back
Too **** old to heal fast
Them thar hills looming high
To where God watches my
Life lived by
Them thar hills

Grand intervention occurs when I sleep
The words are from a spiritual depth
The feelings engrossed, are steely ****
Driven by such I write in the dark
I have done it again the next great Poem
Epic creation I know it'll slay them
I finish the last line and adjust in bed
The journal on the floor to darkness I tread
Now awake I read the great work
And it sure reads different I feel like a ****
Yet i must not deprive anyone my latest masterpiece
So i humbly submit this poem at your feet

There once was love
Neither could deny
The rush of youth
The look In
A lovers eye
As time
Separates
The moon from
Orbit
So should some
Lovers
Be cut short
She could forgive him
For his sake and
Soul alone
She could forgive him
And beckon him
Home
Home
Oh home
But what's the
Sense to forgive him
Now
He'll never know
Just how being
Forgiven
Could be
There once was love
She could forgive him
And beckon him home
Oh home
Come home

With cane and strap
I rule the *****
Here, there is no
Mirth
Only tooth and claw
From  birth
A thick hyde
And hackles that stand
Like knives
One can beat
Natural selection
From the dog
But this
Has never gained
Loyalty
By God
A companion
Who holds no
Malice
That would sit to the right
Of the king of the
Palace
Only a man who knows his
Own weakness
Can shape a *****
To  greatness

Turn turn
Bury your head in the sand
It seems as if God has
Forsaken this promised land
Is it failure of our leaders ?
Failure of faith?
Families in which there is no
Solid base?
Alcohol and drugs
Found in everyplace?
We are distant from, hope and our Lords grace.
As long as money can flow
Into pockets,  they'll use the poor
And sick to flock us.
They wish to separate faith from the masses,  by mocking us.
Divide to cause fear
Provide a dream that cannot be
Obtained
Consume and spend
The debt will never end
Hope has all but died
But greed keeps the machine alive.

She was never very giving
Or understanding of me
She took in the sun
And stuck me in shade
If I would have been
Given
Half
the
attention
She'd demanded
I would be

Studded leather
A feather boa
Wrapped in golden thread
And not forgotten
Live like you care
About others
And your actions
Are not for praise
I just don't think
Much of her
These passing days

From Wichita
To KC
McCalister
And big mac OK
In the fields
The backwoods
There's an unmarked
Grave
Where your Grandfather lays
There was blood
And senseless death
He's in an unmarked grave
He'll never  rest
I hope there's water
That runs by his plot
Just in case
His soul is hot
I am part of him
May someday we see
His unmarked grave
May he rest in Peace
Your grandfathers Grave
is in the back twenty
And his resting place we'll never see
Your grandfather's unmarked grave

Every one is passing through
Numbers on a calculator
Your number will come up soon
More likely now than later
Boss sitting in a chair
Rubbing his temples
His seat maybe high now
But too easily topples
Slamming fist against a locker
She's at it again
Him and his wife are over
We really  can't depend on one another
They'll burn through the newbies
Let them work the hours
And those disgruntled old boots
Just complain to each other
You're just passing through
They'll find some one to take your place
Your badge will be passed to a brand new face
Here's a small thank you a little money
Every month
It gets taxed subtracted and hardly worth
The life and time you gave up
Figure it out it's not too late your youth is running out get outta this place
Keep your sanity
Save the soul of another or your own

I used to play my records
Now
I don't sing at all
I would meet with my teammates
And play
Softball
I would cruise the boulevard
Now I just
Walk my hall
I used to be
Something
Now I'm mostly gone
I used to enjoy liquor
I'd **** down the wine
These days I drink water
I left spirits behind
I used to believe
Now I demand proof
I have no faith
Not even in myself

There is no ending
We just go on
I am waiting
Waiting for God

It's a bus stop
This whole
Life thing
I've just been waiting
Waiting to
Be seen

Shoot A flair man
Dance in the fire
I have been
Waiting
To expire
Waiting for God

You can not solder a pipe if there is water in it
Water always takes the easiest route
Water finds its own level
It hits as hard as steel or as soft as itself
Be like water
Too much water consumption can lead to death
You can drown in 3 inches of water
3 days with no water and you die
Never drink salt water
Salt water doesn't freeze
Any water here, now  ,is millions of years old
Don't drink water fish **** in it

He's a dirt bag an
A-hole
Tries to act like a
Navy seal or Evel Knievel
He's got a nice car
And cheap hair
He's got an angel
Next to his chair
What's she doing with a creep
Like him can't she see he's paper
Thin
He's plastic
He's a Ken doll
He ain't got no class at'all
Then why
Is she with that guy
If shed spend
just one
day
with me
Shed find out what she's mis-
sing
I'd treat her right
Cause
I got soul
hard as steel
I Ain't  plastic
I'm real
I'd be more classy
If she would ride with me
Why oh why
Is she with that guy

How many were at the gathering?
Six, but my mind escapes me
Might there have been
Seven?
Drinking wine upon my entrance,
A variety of crackers
And cheese.
I made six,  six chairs six men
All around the round table
I was invited in.
Light conversation of who is who
And when was back then
I stood not
taking a chair
I wish I had noticed
How many men were there?
I think it was different so many times
Men around fires
Men about rocks
Away from the women
Were men must talk
I was the sixth chair, my character
Known to three,
Its why I was invited
and
Upon seated
I drank the wine

Thumb out head down
Another semi smokin' crown
Yeah no riders
Well , ******* jack
We are riding in a train
High balln' it
Almost caught
At the hobo camp
Huge cities
Ya all
that
You cant get back
I got a destination
(Weak whisper)
I got a destination

Eye on the prize
Ain't no one
Pointing at me
Saying
You wouldn't understand
You don't know
Not only do I dig
It
I'm the bodhisattva
I dreamed it so

This little wool bag of mine
Contains
Most of my things
I got mostly
Utilitarian items
Nothing that
Represents my dreams
It gets a lot of wear
Being dragged
From here to there
It's near me most of
The time
The bottom is thread bare
Like this soul of mine
I used to leave it at places
To demonstrate trust
Guess what would happen???
People would take my stuff
So now I drape it over my
Back
Like a,,transitory
Christmas sack
This here wool bag of mine
This here wool bag of mine
It ties at the top
If you see me on the side
Of the road go ahead and stop
Ike E Davis Jan 2020
Alright folks stay with me now
They are the X'es
We are the O's
We operate on a
Place called the public board
The X'es occupy these amount of squares
The O's have always taken the area over there
I point this out but most bystanders
Really don't care
Now, it's a bigger board cut up in a certain way
The X's control these parts until a certain date
Then a majority vote will turn those spots to O's
There are those inbetween but, they cant swing the vote
Back at square one,
stay with me now everyone
We are just learning the ground rules
And back to front the shell game goes
Who were the X'es and who are the O's?
And those in the middle are often gray
But our side is right
Upon the board we play
