She never grew older
Ike E Davis Nov 2019
She'll never grow older than
That day
I'll never need my space
Or turn her away
I'll never kiss her lips
Or gaze deep in her eyes
Again.

We won't walk hand in hand
I'll never see her smile
at my
Dad jokes
I'll never
smell her hair
Or trip over her ****
Eat her gourmet cooking
Or her pork and beans

She'll never realize
Her dreams

Our daughters will cry
At the drop of her name
I'll never look at her side of
The bed
the same
There will be nights
When her warmth isn't there
And I'll wish she'd whisper
Sweet words in my ear
But I've inherited
the wind
It's been quite  a loss
To have lightening in a bottle
To just have
it suddenly
lost
I'll never be the same
And she'll never
age
a day

Idle
Ike E Davis Mar 2024
Many stand idle and watch the dismantling
Of our Constitution and Country
They fear being called names ,
And labeling
Oh ,
many may point fingers
And ring the warnings
of danger
Most won't hear
and they truly believe
That others will step up and
Take the lead
But the horde is coming
And the problem is clear
Most stood by and did nothing
Some simply
don't care
After the years
of the end
Will you look back
Wishing
you had
Taken a stand?

Whispers are now words
These words are being heard
The shroud is pulled over
America's face
The blueprint couldn't last
And since when has our Nations voice
Spoke treaties of truth
At times its about the water
Or how a violent place saves face
To see it be stripped to the metal
The framing document
Replaced?
Call on your brother
If their good will is not
Malice
This is now when you
Find no one in line to hold your place
No flag flew today
And tomorrow for it,
I will not stand
Farewell to the old beautiful
For mans greed
Disgraced

Used to be..
Ike E Davis Nov 2020
I used to play my records
Now
I don't sing at all
I would meet with my teammates
And play
Softball
I would cruise the boulevard
Now I just
Walk my hall
I used to be
Something
Now I'm mostly gone
I used to enjoy liquor
I'd **** down the wine
These days I drink water
I left spirits behind
I used to believe
Now I demand proof
I have no faith
Not even in myself

Shiny penny
Ike E Davis Jun 2019
That's a shiny penny
A glowing copper top
I should stop and
pick it up
Give it to my friend
Who means the world to me
It cost just a penny
But it's a pretty thing
I'll give it to my sweetheart
And make it to a ring

Democrats described
Ike E Davis Nov 2024
Here are the problems with democrats
They want to conduct beatings on the opposition,
and they want  illegals to remain in my nation
They like to put targets on people's back
And wish death on other humans for political wrath.
They label everyone a ****.
Then tear down historic statues and occupy college campuses .
Promoting anti
Jewish
marches
They want retaliation
and try using  gorilla tactics to bring down my union
Blaming everyone else for the mess we are in.
Never being gracious when the other side wins.
I have rights and a voice. I also believe..
its a woman's choice.
I walk between the shadow and light, and guarantee this poem will bring about hate..
tis another democratic trait.

Ike E Davis Jun 2020
There will be
A second shot
Heard around the world
Brother will again
Face brother
Chest to chest
Blood will be shed
There will be
Civil unrest
Those we thought
Were brothers in arms
Will show their true
Colors
Lines will be drawn
Of theirs and ours
To define new
Borders
A constant fight
Will be border
Control
Just like DMZ
Or Israel
I will find a side
So shall you
We will meet opposed
Or under
United Districts
I do this for my children's
Future
I make oaths and sign
In blood
May God guide my hand
Against those I oppose
As I raise the ***** Jaw Bone

I can fly higher than
A sycamore tree
I can see further
Than
An eagle
high, On wing
I can smell the musty Garm
 that treads on Heavy paws
I can hear the
Tip tap
of
It's claws
I feel the shadow
Drift across my Grave
I see the blind begger
Shake his cup
His eyes sunken
Shriveled up
I can taste the

Sweet mixture
Of
Young virgins full of lust
Picking fruit
For the harvest
I feel hope slip
I feel a tear fall
Upon my lips
Salty
Yet pure
Enough to stop
Me feeling
Ashamed
For my senses
Are heighten
And I can receive
The message On high As high as
The sycamore tree.

Subjected to restrictions
Expected to carry the line
All I need is a saddle
A bit so I can't complain.
Lights on
Lights off
Time of clocks
Is gone
Early to bed
Stubborn at rise
I rub the sleep
From my eyes
Potato in the ***
Fresh water still runs
When there is no water
There will be no need
For guns
I'll respond
I promise
To yeaee
And
Halt
And other threats
Don't hurt anyone
Else
Head down I take my lap
Freedom

Ike E Davis Sep 2024
I heard a siren
I was filled
With fear
Fire
,hell and brimstone
Followed quite near
Many fools pointed
Which way to go
I asked
where did this come from?
No one seemed to know
Higher we ascended
Moving on a path
But there's no room up at front
So the masses cannot pass
Camping on the road side
The pasture holds our trash
Mind the filth and needles if you
Go traveling past
Will no one protect us
Where are the brave and strong
They sold out to anyone with a buck
The righteous are long gone
I oft wonder and with wonderment I stare..how did we rise so high
To only end up here.

Wool bag
Ike E Davis Jun 2020
This little wool bag of mine
Contains
Most of my things
I got mostly
Utilitarian items
Nothing that
Represents my dreams
It gets a lot of wear
Being dragged
From here to there
It's near me most of
The time
The bottom is thread bare
Like this soul of mine
I used to leave it at places
To demonstrate trust
Guess what would happen???
People would take my stuff
So now I drape it over my
Back
Like a,,transitory
Christmas sack
This here wool bag of mine
This here wool bag of mine
It ties at the top
If you see me on the side
Of the road go ahead and stop

Strained Failed
Ike E Davis Aug 2020
My faith lately has been very challenged
So I stepped back and looked at what my faith means
I realized the problem right away,  its people who don't agree with me
Religion is word of mouth
Faith is what you believe
So my religious foundations are based on hearing a story and for me to agree
Man conveys the stories and I drink the kool-aid
Why are there only a select few that gods have spoken to?
Am I not a child of light
Shouldn't I be able to connect directly to the Almighty?
All my religious references have been passed down to me, if I was never told of the glory of God
Would I know it? Would I find solace and bend my knees to heaven thanking God for the gifts he has given? I know I have lost my faith in men.
So does that mean their stories of God are lost to me as well? There are books and books all written by mans hand, there are no longer burning bushes that communicate.  Why are there no miracle workers walking the earth now. Why are there no messiahs today? Seems I'm disconnected and my connection to God was explained to me by an ordinary group of men. It just comes down to; "What do I believe,  and how am I supposed to find my own way after being tainted by the religious concepts of man, on this let us pray" amen

I've carried thatch for roofs
Over my head , bundle after bundle, up ladders,
Quick as a snake , balancing that bundle
in the air
Nearly a high wire act
Hope to shout,
Loud as an ape,
Hard days wage devided
Among many
Dumb as a stump
Hard as nails
Hero to the herds
And those that herd.
Heard me right?

These things matter
Strength to take on each

To find brightness on
The dark days

Five years of honest hard work

But I will make you

Now you will fall where you stand
Your last decision was bad
You  and your ilk thought you were
Safe
Abandoning me and my race
I offered friendship and unity
You preferred isolation and
Supremacy
Now you beg?
With folded hands?
Do you think
I give a ****?
As was once told to me
Do you think my heart is full of charity?
Walls will burn
Territories change hands
Your people will be driven from this land
Only your women and children will leave
The warriors souls belong to me
There will be no next time to talk
No parlay
May the carrion dine where you lay.

Ike E Davis Oct 2020
The walls are thin
And whispy white
Wind can be heard blowing
Through them
And shadows cast by daylight
Cement floors with throw rugs
nothing is damp
A small double bed opposite the door
Big enough for only one
The bathroom door moves
Open and shut
Like a heartbeat
When the wind picks up
it's never cold
The roof is tin
Tile and tar
It never drips water
On the floor
There's a counter no table
A hot plate
No stove
Windows look
Westward
Showing a place to go
You can hear the ocean
If you are still
Open the front door
To greet the rising sun
I can see her car pulling up
The hill behind the barn
Back inside to tidy up
I have no flowers
To set out
And no wine
To get drunk
I have this room
Thats enough

Shame
Ike E Davis Jul 2020
You've been shamed into hating your lineage
Shamed into thinking you are them
Guided down a path of self destruction
Only to bow your head
God doesn't exist
according to the new
Boeheimiams
He  hasn't existed before
Turning your back on your
Existence.  What Are You Living For?
afraid to do the wrong thing
Fear has been used to control your mind
Its usually about money?
Maybe not this time
Economy's fail, businesses close, but hide the collapse under a mask
Whose to know?
Blame it on the blacks
No one will doubt it.
Fear can drive bigotry
(Whisper painfully to almost a silent cry)
The banks are In on it...
200 trillion reasons
Only so many are at
A percentage high
A thousand years of peace to follow
I bow my head and try...
To love myself
and forgive myself
And trust myself again, and again.

The moaning bride
Ike E Davis Dec 2024
Do you suppose the moaning bride
Made such noise
From losing her life?
Or was it regrets
A matter of the heart?
That tore her voice
Apart?
Was there torture?
At least,
In her mind.
Or was it physical,  with a twist of metal a pop,
of the spine.
Lots of images
Come to a question of these kinds,
What made the
Moaning bride?

In the dark
There are shadows
It is why our ancestors gathered
By a fire
Those dark shapes are created by ones mind
Unless they are of
The living kind
Just behind you
Moves a form
In the corner of your vision
Look..
and it moves no more
You and your imagination
And yet you can hear a slight
Breath,
a gentle breeze
It's why we should huddle
Together at night
For shapeless horrors
like these.

I wonder if she knows
That I think of her
I'm not that guy
She thinks she knows
When a few words are passed over ten years or more
She doesn't have a notion
Of who I am in this world
I imagine spending time with her
And my mundane life fades
She brings light with her
As I crawl through these dark days
I hope this life's rope won't suddenly end
When I haven't told her
How much in love I am

I am an animal

You are animals too
We co-habitate
On this rock, of blue
We really have not
Gained any wisdom
Over these ages
of Adam
And how many historical events
Have passed,
and yet ;
We don't learn from them.
I'm blue in the face
From speaking and shouting
"Are any sane people left?"
Crowded, pushing in..on me
No air,, can hardly breathe,
Clawing !
my way forward, just to get some space.
Here there is no footing,  my heels
Begin to slip,
and the more the herds a'stiring, the longer the trip
Looking back over the road ,
broken people are exposed
and lessons Spoken
come out as a belch
Protect yourself,  women and children first.

Alright folks stay with me now
They are the X'es
We are the O's
We operate on a
Place called the public board
The X'es occupy these amount of squares
The O's have always taken the area over there
I point this out but most bystanders
Really don't care
Now, it's a bigger board cut up in a certain way
The X's control these parts until a certain date
Then a majority vote will turn those spots to O's
There are those inbetween but, they cant swing the vote
Back at square one,
stay with me now everyone
We are just learning the ground rules
And back to front the shell game goes
Who were the X'es and who are the O's?
And those in the middle are often gray
But our side is right
Upon the board we play

When, we come of age
Is when, choices are made.
A fresh footprint
Is laid
It indicates no direction
Of travel
It generated from space;
Thin air.
It shows no relationship to anyone,
No memories
Ingrained
Nothing holding it
Here
Be encouraged to travel
Step that step proud
They're not to judge you
Since you
Stepped out
Of the others, they too are in movement,  and now you can see with
Unbiased eyes,  how thankful we can be. For by the grace of God, go I.

To think
There is nothing bigger
Nothing beyond
What we see.
To never experience the
Feeling of wonderment
or belief.
Those without faith,
have turned to the seven deadly sins,
for there is no love in someone ,
who fills themselves up physically
to strengthen
Disbelief.
Those people may find others,
who encourage their lack of faith,
They embrace what feels good, and ignore the spiritual state.
Soulless, self-centered monsters that find pleasure in others pain. This is what happens , when
religion is tossed away.
No moral code, you've seen it,
No social skills, take what they want,
You've seen it on the news, no helping  others in need, nothing but ;me ,me, me.
The only moral thing they think they do ,is telling others how to behave and that religion is for fools.
It's not political,  although it sure seems we've chose our side,
It's really good against evil,
you saw it coming the whole time.
Your soul can be saved, yet.
time to decide which Diety
will you stand by.

An immortal
Ike E Davis Jun 28
From where did he come?
Was he birthed?
And what were his parents like?
Or did he burst forth from a strobe of light?
How many forms can he take?
How does his mind not break?
A flower chases daylight
Moss hides in the night
And what does a sentient being think
When stuck in such a plight?
Does time tic on, like a beating drum?
Every second like a taiko strum
He's not really a plant, for he knows he can't die, he's a sentient form of life and can't experience the true meaning of dying as a plant. What if he's now a rock? In a bed of sediment, does his conscience drift, and wonder where time went?
Does he interact with mankind?
He's more like a thing , that's alive, it doesn't breathe and has no heart beat, its nothing we can grasp, this immortal man, nothing as nothing can.

— The End —
