Divorce is quite the sad thing
That comes at any age
When you were young
your parents might disengage
To find out they don’t love each other
Does not mean they don’t love you
But when they come apart
you come apart too
And sorrow is what ensues

You might want to hold it in
Or pretend it doesn’t exist
But I truly know the pain you just missed
I might’ve been young
but rage carried on
My heart was once broken
And taped to get along
When life is tough the only option is to get better

I once had a crush
so beautiful so kind
I was young, so bashful
and, so blind
I could not tell
whether I liked her or not
When I was around her
I felt quite distraught
I wasted much time
without realizing my feelings
Then it was too late
she found someone intriguing
She loved another man
Not me but another
So I ran away feeling
to be simply a bother
I stop talking to friends
who stood around her
In work I shall find myself alone
So I’ll move to another
When sad things happen you just have to move on

My heritage is from the Portuguese
They are quite known to sail the seas
Although born quite lone, Bore hole in me
For we know thou sister shall set me free
Like that of breeze of the windy seas
That is why I am Portuguese

I’ve been told, that men are dumb
So I do truly wonder
what type of man I should become
I’d ask my father
smart and witty
He told me I should give pity
To all those who think
That men are not worth your time
I will tell you with this simple rhyme
Men are not garbage they are people too
For every little piece of man that you chew
Another one sprouts
so desperate for attention
Even a little boy can tell it’s depression
The sadness we feel after the heat we get
Will tears us to pieces , to little shreds
Some people say we deserve all the hate
Some people say we’re just a disgrace
Others will tell us that we have a lot
But I’ll change your mind
with this simple thought
What we had is not what we have
Everyone’s different some happy some sad
So don’t compare us
to the men before us
With the new age I feel we will flourish
This is an important poem to me
