Lyn Lawrence Jun 2019
On an evening
While a palm watches down
Serene and cool
There wrapped in Love
And clothed with smiles
Golden tender soul light
Shines and stretches out its hand
Of Sundry Salvation toward Two
Whose separate ragged anniversaries
Are soothed and calmed
Made not to matter
Nor to bruise again
Within the Garden
Tendril chutes appear
And tower over once mighty fears
Lyn Lawrence Apr 2019
She stood beside the lake
Under a tenuous sky
As his ashes were scattered
The winds lifted the grains
Carrying them up and away
Above her silent eyes
And tarnished heart
And she wondered into thinking
That all he ever had been
Or ever hoped to be
Was ended there that day
She heard the dying leaves
Whispering to one another
From the stoic and somber trees
As the scent of roses
Passed by on the gentle breeze

Out beyond the stars
Lies a pasture of debris
Left behind
By Great cosmic heroes
The gods used to play here
And feed off the horizon
When magic was real
And nights were juicy
We’ve sent them away now
It seems a disgrace
To forget so quickly
Zeus and his comrades
Hanging in limbo
Put out to pasture
Grazing on forgotten dreams
