the streams of tears from my cheerless eyes never dried..

the packing was 7 minutes and the parking was
an hour so during the ride
i lathered myself in baby sunscreen to prevent
early aging..
mom said so so it must be true.

i head to the boardwalk and the beach is filled with
multicolored umbrellas
seagulls relentlessly following people for their food
revealing swimsuits and a whole lotta stretch marks
and mixed faces alike
and i only have one thought in my mind..

what was i thinking..

you are the warm land
and I,
a mere human being,
am laying here on your cool sand
while all sanity is fleeting.
