 Mar 2014 Dear
Ghazal
It's when you understand that-

Everyone has a battle to fight
Everyone has a demon to ****,
                    A regret they pray disappeared,
                    An unanswered "what if?..."
                    A larger than life aspiration
An urge for a simpler life
                    (both at the same time),
                    Everyone sees in themselves
A flaw they spend all their might to hide,
                    Everyone has an ache untreated,
Insecurities kept discreetly in a shell.
Everyone has a Story to tell-

Do you begin to realise that
Probably all of humanity
Is just the many versions of
One inifinitely re-written story.

Feed me! Feed me! Winter is here to stay and Believe me when I say it’s an icy cruel cold World out there no matter how giving Mother may seem. Still a barren boring desert out there, so collect what you can my fond familiar Enemy. Disguised as my only friend. Fetch fodder for the Pigs because we are starving—it’s going to be a slaughterhouse. scrambling, sweating, searching for anything I can find from the Fruits of Compromised concrete wastelands. Collect what you can. Look to the tree trunk Tops and climb and climb, and you will see colors. brilliant oranges, bleeding reds, burning yellow light shining onto the Last of what tree trunk Tops are reluctant to remain. Wildfires. Supreme ruler, I bow down, “May I kiss You? May I kiss You just this last one time and I swear I will go”. I have kissed God, and there is nothing more boundless than a kiss from God. Prisoner! Take the prisoner away! He is ****** to Eternity for his Temptation, truancy, and treason that has been committed against his own flesh and soul. regrettable Temptation, malicious self-harm—it’s going to be a slaughterhouse. Although this is the history of the world, and for all of existence we have come crying onto this Earth hungry like lions.

purple orchid
I watch as moonlight
Sinks into the shadows
Burning eyes
As I stare at the starry night

Yet the light
Recalls memories of happy
Strolls under the dancing stars
How I wish I could tell him
Nothing has altered the course
Of the passion that burns
Spontaneously

My soul longs for the boy
Who once painted beautiful
Portraits of love on my canvas
And I realize I would gladly
Batter my hopes of heaven
For a moment to call him
Mine again
 Dec 2013 Dear
Claire Collins
i pick you up from the armpits
shining in the December of yr adolescence

this morning a 19 yr old boy asked me how to spell achievement

this afternoon i saw exhaustion in a single mother's fingers

I saw peace in the bald, pink cancer patient seeking holistic remedies at Whole Foods

the weary barista delights in his tip jar

and this
this is the tip

of the glacier

that is hope

a shipwrecked shore to call home

you are not from here

sailor

do not anchor

yr worries to reality

we all beat the ocean
in our sleep
 Dec 2013 Dear
Devon Lane
I want to tell you everything,
but lately I haven't been able to find the right words.
Upside-down vowels adhere to fractured consonants;
mismatched words snap into twisted phrases and unkind sentences.
Hesitation has been holding my wrists and drowning me
in rivers of regret and  loneliness.
Waves of sorrow crippling my psyche with every drip
of the faucet.
What once was a controlled trickle
Is now a raging flood.
Oxygen isn't common
In the box labeled reality.
"Take a hatchet to the walls,
and step into the sunlight!"
Curious knights ride upon steeds of
broken glass and rose petals,
with hopes to sew heartache back onto her
tattered sleeve,
all of whom are poisoned by greed and
red-hot lust.
They don't know about the bridges
that've been incinerated inside her soul.
We all need that person who will kiss our scars,
and read us seasick fairy tales of love and triumph.
When we find this victor of such an immortal task
We'll dive into the ocean of eternity,
and hope for the best.
