To catch your breath
Sheath it on my back
Take you to a ****** journey
Fill your lungs with the pigment of our enemies
When you whisper in the breeze
Muffled sounds of their crying bodies
Falling one by one
Only distant memories
Haunting.

Operational exhaustion
Inability to reason
Their faces along with the families
Visiting my dreams whenever i sleep
Thousand-yard stare
Victim of the infinite warfare
Unrecognizable to the close ones.

Tragedies from the past
Never meant to last
Injuries remained on the outside
Inside full of holes
Gravely wounded, subject to death
Living by a miracle
An unwanted life
Burdened with the weight of uncountable feelings
That didn't find their peace
Endlessly wandering through the soul stream.

Fairy tale gone wrong
Silver Heinsaar Jun 2018
Bird seeds, playing violin
Bleeding through my nose
Breathing where it goes, who knows
Where she took her pose
Holding up a white rose
Like a birthday boy, eating candles off the table
They knew we weren't stable
In no condition to be self sufficient
Threw us out like Hansel and Gretel
Their uncle Peter, never seen them
Heart broke down because you reap but did not grow
Call it a loan, a borrowing
Something you didn't even own
Pushed into morrow but didn't live through to see
What your actions were causing
To these poor kids who may never be who they once were
And before you ask,
Well don't
You'll never know.
