Adoption
Bobby Morgan May 2018
Even at birth
My parents didn't want me
So I found different ones
but I still wonder
if they love me?
If the parents who waited nine months for me
the parents who brought me into life
didn't want me
then who would?

It would be stupid to think that they don't
They help me
Feed me
Take care of me
But
I still wonder if they really do
I can't stop wondering if they do.
And whenever I wonder if they do

I lose a bit of wonder too.

Can't stop thinking about this in class.

Distractions
Bobby Morgan May 2018
Blue skies and green trees
Birds chirping
Walking in the park
Watching comedies
Eating unhealthy but yummy candy
Listening to music
Watching Royal Weddings
Reading poetry.
All distractions
From what’s really going on.
Robberies
Murders
Wars
Politics
School Shootings
Trying to distract ourselves
From all of these terrible things
Than trying to act upon them.
Like dangerous thoughts circling around in my head

Maybe we all need a distraction.

Poem #1
Bobby Morgan May 2018
This is
Poem #1
Carrying you
Into
Another world.
A
World like
No
Other but
Feels
Just the
Same.

A world
That
Has no
Shape
But is
Limited
In movement.

A world
That
Has no
Pattern
But is
Bound
By rules.

My own
World
Full of
Things
I love
But
There is
No
More space
In
My world
To
Fit my
Thoughts
in.

So I
Break
The rules
And let
My own creativity
Flow into
My world.
Put it into writing
So it can last forever
My own world
My own rules
All poured into a poem
I call it Poem #1.
