Joker
MAYUR Apr 2019
Laugh clown laugh
This is grief and there's no mistaking
People will wear you out and move on
But you know there's no running
From Gotham's decadence
The wishful ignorant oh so hate to covet
Laugh clown laugh
Even when your heart is breaking
This cannot be remedied by any balm
The whole city will be left burning
Delivered from providence
Behind the chaos a laughing silhouette
After looking at Joaquin's Joker

Final minutes
MAYUR Dec 2018
The dying breathe the hardest at the last minute, all of life goes by in a flash
The heat of life's many summers leaving, eternal cold awaits the flesh
And you can't tell me any different, no matter what your idea of the after
Your strength and might will fail to pen this phase of your chapter
And all your money, your women, your house of illusions fade away
When the night ever so gently calls, here dreams will hold no sway
Whether one be guilty of innocence,he shall be tried nonetheless
The trials of your humanity will be seen through a fair lens
And you can't tell me any different, no matter what your allegiance
I've been that man who has spent a lifetime siding with ignorance

Midlife crisis
MAYUR Aug 2018
A rather seamy side of life
Set to repeat day in and day out
Part of this racquet for money
They say it's a need for living about
Once you take from them, your being is bound
Till one day your insides scream but it won't make a sound
Are you still paying loans on that affordable home?
Are your toddlers pestering you for a smartphone?
Have you upped your dose for that ache in your bones?
Do you still deny that the man you once knew was gone?
A rather dark twisted mind
Dreams to exist outside of time
You're bleeding about your face
Age has caught up to you in this rat race
Taking a little from them has taken a lot out of you
You chose to live a beautiful lie, truths you chose to eschew
So you still show up with an inch of makeup?
Oh, so the crowd still loves the face you put up?
Every time you chose not to speak your being forward
You avoided an admission into the crowd's mental ward.

Now
MAYUR Jun 2018
Now
New nows come from the after
Never a now that stays
What you thought was a chapter
May just be but a page
For many a scribbles jotted when
Of what made sense then
Some of it I'd like to have erased but
Time happens to be a pen
Don't go round about counting nows
Instead make the nows count
Finish the **** book before you die
Your stories will be here to haunt

Autumn's child
MAYUR Nov 2017
Can you hear the listener?
When you happen to be the observed
How the black of his eye can reflect
and mirror into your own
As the same light goes back and forth
Can you hear the listener?
As an infinite pause in the eternal now
Where words find depths and sink
And that which you'd forget
Will echo back exactly as it were told

For he's the Autumn's child
With November's gift of remembrance
Every story finds a place in him
Tales that survive many a winters

Wanderlust
MAYUR Oct 2017
Why ,this rider has been long
Wearin' the rain and the sunshine
The love of the road, says
"She's all that's ever been mine"
Living the changing seasons
Never giving home a thought
"I'm one of those wayward sons
My dreams cannot be bought"
There's no getting lost here
When journey is the only goal
"This feeds my wanderlust
And I've given up all control"

So it rains
MAYUR Oct 2017
So it rains to our discomfort
Never fails to show our loopholes
Bringing movements to a halt
Exposes faulty drains and potholes
So it rains to our discomfort
But most of it becomes the sea
So drench yourself while you can
You will miss it in summer's heat

Spirit of the universe
MAYUR Oct 2017
That spirit in the laws of the universe
That we could be it's manifestation
That it humbles ones perception
That quantum physics showed us
That an observer can create reality
That you will become what you think
That imagination knows no bounds
That you can will things into being
That you give time the time to heal
That if you held on, the tide will turn
That words and action echo and return
That in time your time will come
That spirit in the laws of the universe
That experiences itself through us
That we can be more than just dust

For what its worth
MAYUR Aug 2017
The time you give, the skills you hone
Turning up well dressed and combed
To work for a cause that isn't your own
The buses under which you're thrown
Times you've been spoken to in a tone
Have turned your heart to that of stone
Out of fear that you'll end up all alone
Are you saving up to brace an unknown
That you'll live long to reap what's sown
So that when the door out is shown
You'll have built something to call home

Staring at a screen
MAYUR Aug 2017
Staring at a screen, window to the world
Assault on the senses, unrelenting hold
Power to influence and form an opinion
**** free thought and make you its minion
Billions of bytes to empty before offer ends
Willing to pay more so the service extends
Online gurus have your life defined for you
If millions follow, their words must be true
Staring at a screen, the truth that isn't told
Once you've signed, companies have your soul

Falling
MAYUR Aug 2017
There be no other falling like this
You see pleasure in this victimhood
This person that becomes your all
The escape you sought from solitude
Your heart in the palm of her hand
To her assertions you're no more inert
That leaves you most vulnerable
Should she choose to exercise hurt

Rum soaked tongue
MAYUR Jul 2017
*** soaked tongue spews Kierkegaard
Path to selfhood  never seemed so far
Lost in the finite ,at the mercy of the crowds?
Or infinite, where dreams know no bounds?
*** soaked tongue spews Noam Chomsky,
Student debt makes entrepreneurship risky
Lost in the system, opinion that of the crowds
Shout freedom, see how the police surrounds.

Roses on the grave
MAYUR Jun 2017
The roses on the grave mean nothing
The place is as dead as the people there
Too little too late to talk to them now
They no more think if life's been fair
The roses on the grave mean nothing
They are oblivious to your gestures
May be if offered to the one's living
The alive respond better to flowers

Wanting of a limelight
MAYUR Jun 2017
This wanting of a limelight
To find expression in all the scatter
To cause a pause in a fast city
And expect to be made an offer
Is it ever about an individual?
To a state's organism we are abstracts
To fit into a statistic of averages
And the results are deemed to be facts
This wanting of a limelight
Because you think you matter
All people can offer you is pity
As part of an organized disaster

Words are me
MAYUR Jun 2017
I become the words,
silent chaos on paper unfolds,
from the mind's darkness
feelings come to the fore
All to find a pulse again,
hobby is too fancy a word.
Brings down the stakes when
all you want is to be heard.

Her song
MAYUR May 2017
Her song levies a listen,
worth giving your ears unto.
Breathing life into your day,
awaken you from tuesdays' gray.

She sings of midsummers' rain,
her fling with men who drink,
of never having a home,
how she saw the world as her kin.

For whatever you spare for change,
she pours her heart onto the street
Her song and she never had a name
music is how she could ever eat.

Her song levies a listen,
will kickstart your broken heart.
The town holds on to her 'cause
her songs keep it from falling apart.

Go getter man
MAYUR Apr 2017
Forever is a minute,
for a man who wastes none
Seizes every moment
A man who get things done

but never forgets to have fun
Lives like it's his last
Knows the only time is now.

Wallow man
MAYUR Apr 2017
The burnt nights,
showed as black around his eyes.
Unkempt, without a fight
the only frown in a city of smiles.
A walking blackhole
where dreams meet their demise.
Letting go has taken a toll
and not moving on came at a price.

Day 9 in paradise
MAYUR Jan 2017
Life flashed by in a moment, death became a rude awakening
This afterlife is but a torment, the other side is no more welcoming
Found paradise to be a raw deal, one can only be happy for so long
Living forever lost its appeal, a dream you never wake up from.

MAYUR Dec 2016

Every waking moment wasted, past yet to leave the fray.
And lo, at the crossroads again, a new start unfolding.

Many walks behind,many to come

Go where winds of change blow
hopefull of better tomorrow's
