That spirit in the laws of the universe
That we could be it's manifestation
That it humbles ones perception
That quantum physics showed us
That an observer can create reality
That you will become what you think
That imagination knows no bounds
That you can will things into being
That you give time the time to heal
That if you held on, the tide will turn
That words and action echo and return
That in time your time will come
That spirit in the laws of the universe
That experiences itself through us
That we can be more than just dust

The time you give, the skills you hone
Turning up well dressed and combed
To work for a cause that isn't your own
The buses under which you're thrown
Times you've been spoken to in a tone
Have turned your heart to that of stone
Out of fear that you'll end up all alone
Are you saving up to brace an unknown
That you'll live long to reap what's sown
So that when the door out is shown
You'll have built something to call home

Staring at a screen, window to the world
Assault on the senses, unrelenting hold
Power to influence and form an opinion
**** free thought and make you its minion
Billions of bytes to empty before offer ends
Willing to pay more so the service extends
Online gurus have your life defined for you
If millions follow, their words must be true
Staring at a screen, the truth that isn't told
Once you've signed, companies have your soul

There be no other falling like this
You see pleasure in this victimhood
This person that becomes your all
The escape you sought from solitude
Your heart in the palm of her hand
To her assertions you're no more inert
That leaves you most vulnerable
Should she choose to exercise hurt

*** soaked tongue spews Kierkegaard
Path to selfhood  never seemed so far
Lost in the finite ,at the mercy of the crowds?
Or infinite, where dreams know no bounds?
*** soaked tongue spews Noam Chomsky,
Student debt makes entrepreneurship risky
Lost in the system, opinion that of the crowds
Shout freedom, see how the police surrounds.

The roses on the grave mean nothing
The place is as dead as the people there
Too little too late to talk to them now
They no more think if life's been fair
The roses on the grave mean nothing
They are oblivious to your gestures
May be if offered to the one's living
The alive respond better to flowers

This wanting of a limelight
To find expression in all the scatter
To cause a pause in a fast city
And expect to be made an offer
Is it ever about an individual?
To a state's organism we are abstracts
To fit into a statistic of averages
And the results are deemed to be facts
This wanting of a limelight
Because you think you matter
All people can offer you is pity
As part of an organized disaster
