The fog in my mind,
It won't go away,
A sickness,
A fondness,
A tear that won't stay,

It roils and storms,
The lightning of thought,
The bittersweet call,
Of something you're not.
I don't write poetry much anymore, but i do enjoy it every now at then. Thank you all for reading my stuff, it means more than you know.

The music is ringing,
Like a gong in my head,
Sometimes it's good,
But put it to bed.

A ringing and throbbing,
I can't keep it straight,
The words of a friend,
A specialty fate.

A dream that I had,
A scarlet sunset,
A hope to inspire,
Now I'm in your debt.

Forever lost,
We reach for sun,
We sing a tune,
And crack a pun!

Asking for hope,
We look for a song,
We keep our minds open,
And stumble along,

Slowly we find,
The gamey logic,
The screaming crowd,
Of our music in tandem.

Why must you try,
To make everything right,
To erase all my fears,
So that I might not fight?

Why must you take,
My heart and my soul,
My burning desire,
From embers to coal?

That is my reason,
My morning my night,
My reason for living,
My dawn changed to light.

A carol of breaths,
They wind and they blow,
They call from the depths,
"Arise, and bow low,

Arise and take heed,
For you are my own,
My blood and my kin,
Else I don't condone.

Arise and seek plains,
Forests and trees,
And from what you find,
Take sight of the seas.",

And with that they left,
They split up to find,
The peace of their master,
Their own peace of mind,

For eons and more,
They searched in their hearts,
But nothing was spotted,
On none of their parts,

With heads held in shame,
They sulked and caroused,
They found in their minds,
Their master, abused,

They rushed back to find,
Their lord, gone from sight,
And yonder the pale,
They heard of his plight,

"I hear of your end,
To your journey, a lie,
There was no peace,
Never, surprised?

But found you may have,
The will to go back,
Explore the new valleys,
And find what I lack,

There was no great quest,
All was for you,
You give you the chance,
To run, a redo,

To give my own life,
So you may yet live,
And this is for you,
The last gift I give."

And with that they left,
Not mourning his death,
But praising his life,
A new chance for breath.

A feather bobbing on the breeze,
I fall from fame.

Not soaring to new heights,
But catching blame.

We don't win,
We don't lose,
In spring or winter,
Just following blues.

Like a feather in the breeze,
We all fall.

The real choice comes,
When we stand tall.

Whilst waking from sleep,
I had a thought,
Why do we live,
For what we've sought,

Is it 'cause we wish,
For what we lack,
The power to love,
And then strike back?

Is it 'cause we dream,
And find our way,
But wake up and,
We've lost the day?

Or maybe since we,
Know of the loss,
The dying breath,
Of loved ones lost?
