born from evil
born from two
oh, whatever could I do
but hurt
and hate
and bash
and shame
when all I knew was you

born from complacency
born from shame
you harm
and threaten
and shake
and maim
you demon amongst humankind

even I would be confused.

Of years and lifetimes that I've lost
The greatest pain would be the cost
to give my soul unwillingly
to satiate the enemy

Of concrete walls and linoleum floors
broken tiles and wooden doors
poison ink and venom lies
singing cursed lullabies

broken skin and mottled flesh
matted hair and torn up dress
beating heart beneath this cage
suffering takes centre stage

crooked nails, blinding lights
scanted vision, ****** knife
bitten tongue, bloodshot eyes
struggles to romanticize
Phasing from Reality
Ambrose Jan 2021
Here we are
standing
over the smoldering remains
Of the fiend that betrayed us
and left us in pain

Its brother lay cradled
in the arms of the Mother
Leering at us with malice and rancor

We're at a standstill
waiting
with bated breath
For the screams and the cries
of the harbinger of death
New Year prospects.

Greetings, servant to nonsense
How are you today?
Spending hours on your knees,
praying your life away

You put crosses on your walls and ceiling
to keep the evil at bay
But the only evil is within!
And it's here to stay.
Religious trauma.
Ambrose Dec 2020
Beneath your glimmering exterior
Is a heart made of the darkest coal
Behind your beguiling eyes and smile
Is your ulterior and conniving goal

The lofty throne of lies that you sit on
May cast a shadow long and deep
But your disciples aren’t blind to the atrocities
Yet they continue to cower at your feet

But until the day comes when
They shatter your crown
They ignite your castle
And they bring you down

You’ll sit atop your contrived legacy
And continue to bask in your own majesty.
