One day your looks will dissipate Like the steam from boiling water Gradually but inevitably Your physicality will falter Superficiality Is joyous to an extent When you're young and exploring life But you can't always depend On materials and shallow links To bring you what a connection can When you're on your death bed Whether wealthy or simply meeting ends Superficiality fades When all you crave is to hold a hand

One Day
Hello, how are you? I don’t care. My name’s Bruce. Where’d you get your tattoo? Now you’re smiling, aren’t you... Oh you’re not? You’re so rude. You’ve got a real ****** attitude! Where’s your manager? Move! I’m sorry sir- What seems to be the issue? Your cashier at register 2. She doesn’t smile. She’s just rude. I am so sorry about her. What can I do? Fire her is what you need to do! I’m sorry about the wait ma’am, How can I help you? Oh yes, hi, my names LuLu. That last guy was nasty to you. You deserve better, you do. Oh it’s no problem- Nice people like you make me love what I do. What’s your date of birth, LuLu? June 26th, 1972. Nothing seems to be ready... What were you expecting? WHAT!? THERE’S NO WAY! I CALLED IT IN YESTERDAY! WHY DON’T YOU JUST LOOK IN THE COMPUTER!? YOU KNOW WHAT- NEVERMIND! JUST STAY! YOU’RE GOOD FOR NOTHING ANYWAY! WHO KNOWS WHY YOU EVEN GET PAID? JUST HAVE IT READY. I’LL BE BACK AT 8! With tears in my eyes... I’ve cleared the line. The phone’s still ringing, to no surprise. Hello, Kaila speaking- how can I help you tonight? I’VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR AN HOUR! WHY!? I apologize sir, we’re very busy Monday nights. THAT’S NO EXCUSE. MY NAME IS MIKE. YOU PEOPLE CALLED ABOUT MY GLIMEPERIDE. I KNOW IT’S READY. I JUST NEED THE PRICE. Actually, it’s not- IT’S NOT READY!? WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE!? Of course not sir, I- I sigh. Another customer steps into line. I’ll be right with you sir! Make it quick! I’ve got a cab outside! How can I be at your service tonight? I hung up on this other girl. She just wanted to fight. Maybe you can help me. My name is Mike. I’m out of my Glimeperide. Oh, you see sir, your doctor prescribed Glimeperide- One tablet daily as needed at night. These directions can’t be right. WHAT, DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE?! No, I- Kaila, go on break, I will help Mike. I just got off the phone with Dr. Brennan. She clarified those directions. Oh! So you can fill it then? I’m glad someone knows what they’re doing man.

taste bud satisfied
I miss you. I know that is not what you wanted but, I miss you. They told me life wasn't a wish granting factory. If that is true, how did you cease to be? Leaving no memory or trace of the broken heart that could have healed mine. I think of you. I know that's not what you wanted but, I think of you. I see you in the mirrors in my eyes, although you are free you scream and scream and scream begging to God to erase your existence. I wonder if you are me. I know that's not what you wanted but, I see myself in you. I hear the words you once screamed yet never screamed at all, my grandmother said that God doesn't always give us what we want but always what we need. So, I wonder why he took you, and every memory you had imprinted upon this earth. 16 years earlier, your mother holds what was once a positive, but this time around it is not. I know this is what you wanted. so why do you weep twinning tears, to match those of your mother?

The Avocado
You made me feel reborn and now I can't return to you, my false savior my memory's a blur Your lasting impression is forever blackened This twisted recollection haunts me every night again Now that I have been falsely saved I think that it is safe to say Short term relief only brings more pain Savoring the sun only worsens the rain

False Savior
I see it in you Don't give up on yourself Bring your heart back from that dusty old shelf You make me feel new And I can see right past The wall you have painted, it's made of glass I'll help you pull through I'm in love with your mind Please let me in, let our thoughts intertwine What I need to do Is burn down your disguise Don't be a part of your own self demise

I see it in you
I looked God in the eyes and I saw the fury I saw the fire burning and I knew what was coming I heard his voice boom but no words were coming out God looked me in the eyes and he saw the indifference He saw the light in my eyes diminish along with the faith I had instilled in him I looked God in the eyes and I saw the disappointment I saw the ghost of tears he would have shed if this was the first time I had failed him God looked me in the eyes and he saw the fear He saw me tremble with every breath he took he heard my heart fail and start again I looked God in the eyes and I spoke I saw his expression change before I heard my words **** you, you cannot fire me, I quit" I took the sharp knife of his actions - or lack there of and I slit my throat with trembling hands I looked God in the eyes and I watched him laugh He spoke words that shook my bones I felt my heart begin to beat again "My dear child, you cannot quit, only I decide who begins and finishes, and right now is not your time"

God
This atmosphere lacks a certain kind of beauty It's all too low, it must rise to the sky The night is much too dark for me I will ignite the fire, I'll bring the light The sky is too blue, I'll turn it charcoal The streets, they're far too serene, I'll make them sizzle The people, too quiet, they'll soon be scorching with pain The alley is dark, I'll make it flashing white The wind is too calm, the ashes shall  flutter in no time My skin, too smooth, I'll  singe it till it's rough I'll burn this city down until the residue means something to you. I'll make it all disappear They'll all finally hear They'll celebrate today, every year The day I saved us from here.
