I was born in Perthshire Scotland. I joined the Merchant Navy at 16 and served mainly in the South Pacific. I qualified as a chef (C&G;) and after several years I joined the Territorial Army as a infantryman rising to the rank of SSM, during this time I left catering and joined the Police Force. / During my time with the TA, I was attached to various Regiments and posted to a number of countries around the world. / The experiences I have witnessed in my life have been varied, both good and bad. The poems I write reflect the experiences I have encountered through my life and the feelings felt, not only by me but hopefully by those who do not wish to put them in print. / I also observe human activity in daily life, the mundane and so forth, and look to write on those subjects.
