A drop in an ocean
A seed in a field
A sonnet amongst symphonies
A ***** to the ordeal
Words go unread
Voices will not be heard
Glances at your soul
To be valued absurd
Poets don't write
Singers don't sing
If I can't see your eyes
Does this mean anything

Can I trust these eyes
As they scan across beds of lies
The beauty in the words
My heart burns
I need you to be
A calming of this sea
Not a metaphor of love
Spirit of the dove
Something I can feel
Let me know you are real
The soft touch of skin
We are akin
Don't let tears dry
And the blood in the earth cry
Fulfill your word
Or leave us to what we deserve

The laughter of those who live
In only moments of pure bliss
You can't sell them your wares
They don't hold onto our cares
Their games are for those
Who don't count others as foes
They ask others to believe
In something we cannot conceive
The closest this world will see
To unconditionality
Are the minds yet molded
To the ego emboldened

What you are isn't who you are
What you do is what makes up you
What you wear isn't to declare
I've made this world a better place just being here
What you shout doesn't give you clout
It's striking with the gloves that wins the bouts
When you are wrapped up in you
You blind yourself to how the world needs you
Can your identity pick up the pieces of them
Starving on the sidewalk waiting for bread
Your concerns are your concerns because you are overfed. Your self obsession is another tombstone in the garden of the dead
If you trip and fall the universe won't heed your call
You are the master of none and only one

Light brings you to life
Your form is memories of hope
Shadows accentuate your newness
Your auroa does not despair
Casting forth your beauty
The world is driven to respond
This treasure must be protected
You give what we have lost
Your roots spread out in the earth
Finding the paths anew
Spiraling upward towards the sky
You teach us how to grow

I'm hungry
I'm wrong
I don't want to die
I'm scared
I'm hurt
I want to do right
I'm angry
I'm depressed
I can live this way
I'm decieved
I'm detained
I just want one more day
Sun, rise and let me feel you one last time
Remind me your light falls beyond my sight

Do you see me, like I see you
Do you remember my soul
Am I just a distant memory
A fleeting thought of days of old
I sense your happiness
The joy in the ones you love
How you all gather round
Each one a brother to each other
A connection to behold
I'm lost on the wind
A morning mist so fine
I evaporate in the light
It was never my time to shine
I play my song for no one
No one wants to hear me sing
I play this song to march
Down to the cemetery
I knew I wanted love
And when it came
I made it into something that was profane
I missed it's beauty
And instead I became a curse
For all those near me
All I do is hurt
I see me for who I was
And who I am doesn't change the past
A hall of mirrors that accuses
The memory of an arrogant man
I have nothing to offer
A voice easily dismissed
No real wisdom here
Just another kid to swing and miss
I play my song for no one
No one wants to hear me sing
I play this song to march
Down to the cemetery
Is it better to fade when breathing
The ****** of this story has past
No one will remember you
No one will mourn and fast
They will shed one tear for the sake of another
In their hearts they will be relieved
The chains you had on them are broken
They are all now free
I play my song for no one
No one wants to hear me sing
I play this song to march
Down to the cemetery

I could write a song about your love, but it would turn to tears
I could write a song about your soul, but it would transcend here
I could write a song about your compassion, but it would go too deep
I could write a song about your wisdom, but it would be an impossible feat
Instead I'll say that I love you, and thank you for all that you do

What are we looking for, what reigns in me
When we are empty, we ask for a king
A king that reflects are inner most desires
A most sovereign one cast our enemies into the fire
A longing to worship the idol inside
The merciless ruler that conspires and lies
A promise to lift us up on mountains most high
Forsaking humility with a lustful eye
Because you don’t know what you seek
You whistle for the wolves and pretend it’s sheep
Your disease wants more, it’s dug in deep
The mask you wear doesn’t hide your sleep
It is gold we are after and all that shines bright
Our pockets are heavy but our souls are light
This weight keeps our feet glued to the floor
With our Earthly treasures our image adorned
Peace is for the foolish, it reigns naught
The cross over my heart is rusted wrought
Out of the refiners fire I melt away
My sanctuary on sand is where I come to lay
Because you don’t know what you seek
You whistle for the wolves and pretend it’s sheep
Your disease wants more, it’s dug in deep
The mask you wear doesn’t hide your sleep
