I live in a state of being that is vastly different, yet very much the same as yours. Every being has a unique perspective and a subsequently unique reality. Truth is not a universal thing, the meaning of things is different for every individual and no one person's reality holds any more merit than any other. To me, poetry is the art of dancing around the profound, trying to express in words the thing that cannot be expressed in words. And yet still we try, as is human nature; we tenaciously push forward, reach out to feel with frail and uncertain fingers despite a deficit of knowledge and ability of perception. We learn whether we like it or not, the need to dispel ignorance is inherent within us. To cast off into the unknown, to face our fears, to coalesce dualistic forces and to simultaneously allow them to be separate, to perceive clearly and completely...this is the hope of the human race.
