We count the same stars

We whisper to the same moon
    each night.

That is enough,
just knowing we’re in the same universe.

He loved me,
But his actions showed otherwise,
He only wanted me.

If you were kinder than I,
you would treat me with respect.
If you were brighter than I,
you would not flaunt your genius.
If you were richer than I,
you would not call me a pauper.
If you were socially elite,
you would not mock my status.
If you were my superior,
you would sit beneath me.

In poetry, there are no winners or losers. Poetry is an act of worshipping life.

on your last day
the sun was shining
and big white clouds ran across the sky

someone held you tight
and told you, "i love you"
admired you
and cherished you

on your last day
all of your love poured out

you inspired
and you soared
you lived
and you died

your love remains
always

Then suddenly the storm ended

The chaos was over

The sun came out and shed it’s light on all the wreckage

It made the tears running down my cheeks sparkle like diamonds

She gives herself permission to have
Days of doubt
Grieve in silence
Just lay around

She gives herself permission to
Not to be herself
Not to smile
Hide and cry

The she is me and I am her
I give myself permission
To let my emotions
Sometimes take over

Give yourself permission to feel whatever it is you need or want to feel without carrying the guilt of not “being yourself”
