Private Sonnets Nov 2019
“Trained in Moscow, everyone wants us.
We had the best methods and teachers.
In Norway, students don’t make a fuss,
anything goes, no distinctive features.

I told them they weren’t singing healthy.
The students complained. Don’t speak or leave?
Lower standards: trap of the wealthy.
Can’t absorb the knowledge they receive.

We are treasure keepers. The willing
vessels are in Lithuania.
Students capable of instilling
good methods to those of coming years.”

What care I? My voice was muted so
that people like you could grow and grow.
