The girl behind the mask that hid her pain
Is the girl who was afraid of the rain

Pain and hurt behind forceful smiles
Was a girl who walked a thousand miles
She wore the mask everyday
So she could hide the pain that lay

The girl behind the mask always willing to forgive
Is the girl who was afraid to live

She still wears the mask to hide the hurt
And prays everyday that it works
So here she stands hurt and broken
Scared of the day she'll be woken

The girl behind the mask who's filled with sorrow
Is the girl who's afraid of tomorrow

Because of someone who always filled her mind
Had taken her on a broken ride
So left to pick up the pieces alone
She had to make herself a clone

The girl behind the mask in this poem
Is a girl hoping that one day she'll find her true home
