I can see paradise,
she isn't too far ahead.
So on this road
I will continue to tread.

My whole life i've waited
for the love I see,
and now I have attained
the much needed esprit.

I've wished and hoped,
I've cried and laughed
as i've been standing
on my lifeboat's aft.

Here i've been
for as long as I can remember,
but now the fire has grown
from this simmering ember.

Closer and closer
is my dreamland
with every step
and journey I withstand.

I'll stand strong
against the test of time.
For timelessness
is more than just sublime.

Come and dance
this path with me.
for paradise
is the only life I see.

You’re so beautiful

And your eyes simply glow.

I love your laugh

And your hugs keep me warm.

Your voice soothes my heart

And your lips tingle my skin.

I love you.

All of you.

Forever.

Always.

For, we always were

And always will be.

Sunshine breaks through the windows,
warmth and wind beat upon my forehead
and a smile breaks out with sheer joy.

My body soaks
in the peaceful surroundings
as I rest soundlessly upon my bed of clouds.

My heart is tucked under the gentle wing
of bliss,
like an eaglet nurtured
under the comfort of her mother
as the noble pair soar high
above the land.

My still mind
mimics the pauses between the swaying breeze;
The utter silence that illuminates
the peace within.

My body shakes with awakening
as my self experiences satori
for the first time.

As I intently observe
the life force flow in and out,
now is love,
and I finally am.

As I bask in the glowing sun
that peers through the blinds,
I have been blessed with sight,
for now I can see.
Clarissa Clark Dec 2010
The wind opens the clouded curtains
to reveal the shining sun.
This glorious orb had winked, however uncertain
That the wink was directed to only one.
I saw this phenomena, and felt
as if I was revealed all truth.
In this game of life, I was dealt
With the eternal heart of a youth.
Granted to me
by that life giving sun
Was the power to see;
A gift that cannot be undone.
So I blinked one eye
And winked in reply.

I continued upon my way
and saw in the distance, a creature.
His teeth were on display
and squinty eyes added to the feature.
Twas a smile that was given to I,
and felt as if I was one with his soul
as I caught this beauty with my eye;
Just then I was complete and whole.
I was so graciously given
By this beautiful creature
The heart to keep on livin'
As his smile was my greatest teacher.
So I stretched my lips from ear to ear
and smiled back, for I was no longer in fear.

The trees shook and rustled
as I was slowly passing by.
And as the leaves bustled
I glimpsed the wave as they said hi.
I stood still to stare,
as the leaves were dancing a greeting.
I felt the love that we do share,
'cause my heart was aflame and beating.
I was knowledgeably instilled
By this humble, but noble tree;
my quest for friendship is fulfilled;
'cause I learned that there is always a we.
So with my hand, a branch I did take
as I returned the lovely handshake.

I heard the blissful chatter
of a girl years younger than I.
I asked what was the matter;
'I'm laughing!' was the reply.
Her carelessness got the better of me,
and in her freedom I cheered with rejoice,
as we danced and shared the eternal glee.
I was jubilant to hear the guffaw in her voice.
I was so ecstatically presented
by this lightened and carefree soul
with the sense of freedom, cemented
knowing that, of myself, only I am in control.
So I took her hand, and gave a great bellow,
as I gave her a laugh like a jolly 'ol fellow.

I could feel the totality of the earth
in my humble, but powerful heart.
I was a part of the on-going mirth
as I saw creation as God's art.
I could feel the boundless love
that was radiating from every being.
Twas the state of bliss I had been dreaming of;
A feeling that is oh so freeing.
I was permanently endowed
by this force I was so familiar with,
with a love, of which I am proud;
A feeling that is more than just a myth.
So I vulnerably opened my heart with pride,
and returned that love worldwide.

Ever since the day
of those subtle realizations
I have made a point of each today
to join in the celebrations;
by laughing, loving, and befriending.

Man has triumph,
He also has defeat.
Man has love,
But he can also create hate.
Man has happiness,
Though he has felt sadness.
Man has life,
But he can destroy it as well.
Man has care,
But carelessness can overcome.
Man has strength,
But will try to ignore weakness.
Man has power,
However, power can have man.
Man has wealth,
Though has created material wealth.
Man has peace,
Until his balance is broken.
Man has balance,
Until he's dominated by mind.
So man has awareness.
Though numbed by modern creation.
I see man has choice;
Wisdom;
The path of life, or
Ignorance;
The blind path of death.
For neither both are
Wrong or right,
Just ways of being.

Love flows as easily as breath,
You'll take it in, and just as surely
You'll give it out.
It becomes harmony,
The opposite of pain.
For if pain rains on you,
You haven't loved yourself.
Touch becomes irresistible,
Beauty becomes all you see,
Hope becomes the dance of life,
And with love,
Dance becomes eternal.
The sensations enter freely,
Without a mind in sight.
Why, incredible sensations
Are all you're left to feel.
The eyes of the loved glow
A million fireflies,
The skin turns to silk,
The lips like sugar.
For this love does not end
In separation,
It magnifies.
Growing every single second
Even in distance.
Fearless I have become,
Temptation I have destroyed.
I possess a new power,
A newly discovered strength.
The strength to love thyself,
For only now I experience
What it truly means to love.
I dedicate this poem to the love of my life, Luke Sartor. He is one of the greatest joys in my life, and our love has given me the chance to find my true self.

A mother,
A heart,
A weapon.
Befallen in her lap;
The greatest joy.
A growing being,
Able of destruction,
Able of peace.
A guidance one must bring,
Bringing all the wisdom
Of light into the
Small heart of the unlearned.
Let the small one
Forget,
Let her seize,
Let her learn from her mistakes,
Not yours.
Growing and growing,
Bringing and giving more,
For the heart of a mother is
Eternal.
Pain this mid-size heart will suggest,
Accept none,
Accept confusion,
Confusion that lies in her
Blinded heart.

Lead the way,
Lead toward the brightest
White.
Into eternal bliss.
Not to forget, for only
A child forgets,
That she grows blind.
Let the ripened heart
Take childhood's blindfold off,
Let her find her own way,
For now the world is clearly seen.
Love, love, and more love
Will satisfy her,
For that's what's left to give.
You are old, she is older,
For she'll endure the
Life of another as you have.
As long as you have taught her
Peace,
The cycle of life
Will cease destruction.
