Destination vineyard, I sneaked out by the back exit instead
From a place that compensates for all the sweat
Started the engine and the wheels spun
Like a king rushes to the midwife's home on news of a son

A day to remember, a sabbath to recall
Wind blew on my face and it was fresh
With a kiss of hope

Didn't see it coming like a lightning's flash
But enjoyed every moment like staring at a shooting star
If likened to rain, then I would need Noah's Ark
If to sunshine, then a rainbow that never fades fast

Bedtime stories like a granny shares before night
Faces were only seen by the moonlight
Gazing at the Orion's Belt in heaven
No one would leave until eleven

Preceded by months of planting and weeding
Like a farmer gathers yields at harvest time after spring
The aftermath of a long sail to the center of the sea
In anticipation, a fisherman's excitment at net fishing

Sometimes watch the sky as things come by
As the clouds move and pass and life goes by
Counting what you have as the rains fall
Embracing every moment as the night queens grow

Before trees reach heights other leaves fall
The stems may be strong but stronger winds blow
Just stare as they fall don’t cry “hell no”
For seeds that germinate to the ground they belong

Don’t fight too much this March
Watch things fall into place without mismatch
Feel the sparkle of the room around you
As you inhale the fresh air that surround you

Listen to the hands of time as the clock tick
As night insects field crickets from ground level sing
Hidden in a burrow, beneath a stone
Chirping, against a scraper rubbing a file on one wing

A calling song attracting females from a distance
Softer courtship song woos her from a close range
A rivalry song rebuffing competing males with stunts
Don’t fight, embrace life as things change

I have prayed for so long
For God to fix where I had gone wrong
Truthfully I do not know
But I am hopeful for a better tomorrow

I had my last penny taken
My entire world shaken
Brought to the ground
And like a church mouse no sound

People that celebrated my rise
Same people celebrated my fall
And those behind begin to rise
And nothing moving for me at all

God said of this before man did
Made me confident He knows about me
But as a human the delay kills me
Even though hope for my next step thrills me

I can’t wait for a better day
As the promises of God seem to delay
I wish I could hear God speak again
An affirmation that could relieve my pain

Flip it, hidden or showing
Head or tails remains same coin
Just like water, liquid or ice
Roll a 6-sided once or twice still same dice

Life is like a throw-able object
That can rest in multiple positions
But not a gambling device or gadget
For causing random seasons

For each step forward feel your back
For the lack of eyes invites a stab
Elevation heads towards enemy attack
When the wise bite like a crab

When you only stare at the window
You don't see outside and beyond
And the world is a mirror, smile for this sake
But your real one can invite another so fake

A buffalo by a riverbank
Only sees the water and it's own face
Quenching thirst expecting no attack
By the crocodile below the surface

Chickens are better for they stir up dust
To pull out worms and ants
Humans are clever for they hide in masks
To pull some stunts
