Passion

Your lush lips kiss, and they touch against mine.
While our tongues together, twist and entwine.
It is bliss we feel, floating on cloud nine.
As we hold each other, our bodies align.

We move outside, away from judging eyes.
And kiss to feel, feelings of lust arise.
Our touching of tongues, bring us to new highs.
As gentle rain falls, softly from the skies.

But both of us know that, keep down inside.
The terrible truth, we both try to hide.
The hormones that rage, when our lips collide.
Temporary passion, will soon subside.

Yet lust and love, will never fully die.
They're as eternal as, stars in the sky.
Memories form, which we cannot deny
what happened tonight, between you and I.

-dedicated to the beautiful girl I made out with last night

I’ve been pulling away, walking astray
Preserving the ice, avoiding your eyes
Walking alone, believing you’re gone
Watching the burning paradise.

You’ve forgotten my name, I walked in shame
Singing in gloom, locked in my room
Dancing the night, thought I’m doing it right
But I stepped on my own foot.

You are now a stranger, and I’m still a dreamer
Badly wishing that our poem would rhyme
Hope you’re still better than I thought you were
Not forgetting how we could’ve been fine.

I rode on a lonely train, hiding the pain
Still missing you, feeling so blue
Hiding my tears, along with my fears
That I might not get over you.

I opened a good book, tried to not look
Laughed at a tragedy, felt with such misery
Drank from the jigger, thought I’ll feel better
But I just felt awfully done.

Since the day that you came, no one’s to blame
Fell hard in love, wished much above
Things went so wrong, love was still strong
But I put it aside, and took that stupid stride

Away from you…

My mother once told me I was adorable.
She said so with a light smile and a soft voice.
I was young and impressionable,
And forever thought -I was adorable.

My friend once told me I was pretty.
She said so with a wide smirk and a sour tongue.
I was young and somewhat twiggy
And never thought -I was pretty.

My love tells me I am very beautiful.
He says so with a caring grin and a loving tone.
I am young and quite suitable
And often think -yes, I am beautiful.
Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die.

In the hour of death, after this life’s whim,
When the heart beats low, and the eyes grow dim,
And pain has exhausted every limb—
The lover of the Lord shall trust in Him.

When the will has forgotten the lifelong aim,
And the mind can only disgrace its fame,
And a man is uncertain of his own name—
The power of the Lord shall fill this frame.

When the last sigh is heaved, and the last tear shed,
And the coffin is waiting beside the bed,
And the widow and child forsake the dead—
The angel of the Lord shall lift this head.

For even the purest delight may pall,
And power must fail, and the pride must fall,
And the love of the dearest friends grow small—
But the glory of the Lord is all in all.

I don't know what to write anymore,
This boring list, this loathsome chore.
Letters to words, and never sent
With no question what they meant.
No way now to see the trail
Of where those words went off to sail
Catch them now, or forever gone,
One more line for which I long.
The forever phrase stuck in my throat
Lies the poets flattened note.
I worry that the journey ends,
And then the muse, salvation sends.....
I've tried to title a poem this for YEARS. It finally happened, just now. You saw it here, first, folks.
Brown and furry
Caterpillar in a hurry,
Take your walk
To the shady leaf, or stalk,
Or what not,
Which may be the chosen spot.
No toad spy you,
Hovering bird of prey pass by you;
Spin and die,
To live again a butterfly.

I'll love you 'til the rain falls dry
I'll love you 'til stars fall out of the sky
I'll love you 'til the world knows that you and I
were meant to be together.
Your kisses make me float on air
When I'm broken beyond repair
You know that I will always take care
of you when your sun doesn't shine.
You are the love and the light of my life
And I know that there will always be times
When love will get lost and cut up with a knife
but I will pave the way
and always be there to say
I love you,
and I'll forever stay.

In a desperate hug
we brace our spines
for what feels to me
like one last time,
me and my desperate fingertips
cling to you and plead for grip;
But in vain all ten on fabric slip
forced to settle for a steering wheel.
