those eyes never see
chen Feb 11
I have been surviving to earn a dime
Not once did one ask me if I was fine
Days became years over time
Their cruel eyes always met mine
I could barely make it out alive
Yet they expect me to fight and thrive

Why must one take all the blame?
When everyone did just the same.
Time would erase their traces,
And only one suffers the disgraces.
His voice fades, forgotten in shame.
He signs, unveiling his new name.
Thus they spit merciless phrases.
All I see is people with two faces.

Out of Season
chen Feb 7
Seeing the scene, I do not belong here
Well at least for them, that is what I fear
And that is what it looks like to me
Like an unripe apple falling from a tree
I will rot alone, dusk till dawn
When will I learn how to carry on?

move on to live on
chen Jan 29
At last, my wounded heart has a beat.
I hope these scars will cease to exist.
Until then, I will wait for us to meet—
To heal this thousand-year-old beast.
chen Jan 27
I now have everything I could ask for,
Yet my heart remains unfilled, it's torn.
The crowd has been loud in the bustling town.
Their volume weighs on me; I frown.
People's eyes meet mine; they sigh.
Will I be alone again, in this mountain so high?
feeling down these days probably because im overthinking a lot of things...

To the moon and stars
chen Jan 27
From the day we tremblingly said goodbye,
My heart never ceased to call for you.
You are all the stars in the night sky,
Yet none of them are truly you.
A poem written in a character's perspective (Jing Yuan, a demon lord) for his lover (Xing Yue, a lunar deity). Just finished watching this drama (moonlight mystique) the other day and it's so good! I cried a lot too! 😭😭😭

I was the sun of the day
I gave up a few sunshines everyday
Now, I'm all alone, day and night
My heart has burned out, I can't fight
made this poem three days ago when I was feeling left out with my friends and I wasn't planning on posting this since it's not really that good but I have decided that from now own, all of my written poems will be posted :)

Lighter Days Ahead
chen Jan 23
Sick and tired yet I insist and persist,
Until the last drop of tear has fallen.
The weight over my shoulders that exists,
Will eventually be lifted and forgotten.
chen Jan 20
If the moon and stars remain—
and the breeze stays the same,
So should we.
Nothing can stop us in this domain,
Not even after hearing the loudest plea.
Together, forever, we'll be.
this poem is inspired by Moonlight Mystique (mentioned in the title), a chinese drama I'm currently watching (and it's good so far!) ♡

Wondering like a cat?
chen Jan 19
Everyone is curious in this world
But not all questions find their word
Some boldly tried, falling their climb
While others got answers with time
curiosity kills the cat! 😾

Beyond What Once Was
chen Jan 17
Happiness is where challenges await.
You turn to what you hate.
Like lambs becoming wolves for life,
Abandoning innocence to survive.
Things always change.
Is it strange, or is it fate?
Or perhaps you simply grew,
Seeing the world from hue to blue.
this is dedicated to an old friend, who one day just drifted away from me with no explanation at all and until now, my heart remains incomplete... not knowing the reason made it harder for me to accept it, especially when i loved her so much... (as a best friend ofc)

I ended my day with a cry
You may be wondering why
I lost something not once, but twice
And the number of tasks are on the rise

Did I just dodge a bite of a snake?
Or is this really just my fate?
Yet through the haze, I still try to smile
Hoping this would all end with time

Now, as I am writing this text
I realized what could be next
These past few days, I may be unlucky
But perhaps tomorrow, I will be lucky
had a very very very bad day today and I am honestly so lost right now. All of the "small" misfortunes that I tried to forget suddenly went to my mind at once. This poem isn't of good quality since I wrote this in while in a bad mood but writing this did lessen the weight of my heart. I hope everyone's day is going well!

You are above the common people
Not by the value of life, but in governance
In the big picture, your job is simple
To serve people with diligence

You are paid rightfully, no more, no less
You live off the people's resources
Yet you still oppress the ones you work for
We are not as clueless as before

You may hide behind golden laurels
You may deceive our sharp senses
You may **** your own morals
But you will never fool the heavens
currently watching a show that showed a bit of politics (the main character made a poem about their government's corruption) and I was very inspired by it so I made this poem! :)

The Poison is Within
chen Jan 14
I remember it all too well
It breaks my fragile heart and I dwell
Not because of sadness but something evil
I must do something about this, I shall ****
Not the person above me in my memory
But the one who poisoned my blood with ivy
slowly losing your talent to the things you're great at is the worst experience ever
chen Jan 13
I have yet to finish my piece
But so many have already passed
Once ahead in the early years of peace
Now I linger, longing for the past

New year, new me?
chen Jan 13
A heavy heart began the adventure,
With a distance farther than ever.
I shall shape into another mold,
To chase a prize, though it feels cold.
This is the first poem that I wrote this year!
chen Jan 13
Many have slain the king in the board
Envy immediately poisoned my heart
It slowly took control of my mind
Eating me alive, a feeling not so kind
So I ripped the beat out my chest
And strove for greatness, for the best
This is what I wrote for the 'invite' of this website. Just started writing poetry so I apologize for the not so great poetry skills and creativity. 😅

Cries of Innocence
chen Jan 13
A new human has started their journey;
Her joyful surroundings being the key
To a childhood full of love and smiles
Made her want to adventure several miles.

"I want to adventure endlessly!
I want to be grown! I want to go freely!"
The child wholeheartedly prayed to the heavens.
Her ambitious letter was then sent by ravens.

The gods granted the ultimate wish,
And the change was fast and swish.
Discovered multiple advantages,
Yet her heart was filled with anxiousness.

Days passed by a blink of the eye;
Everything in the world has a price.
They crushed her dream, not less a dime,
Using the expensive life and time.

The obstacles of hell had started;
Seven darts of sins hit the target,
Turning the once innocent
To a hungry and selfish serpent.

Loneliness and pain became numbness.
Now, I have forgotten some instances,
Like to mourn my dead previous self,
And how to wish earnestly to an elf.

And so, the once child faded into the mist;
Affection and elation ceased to exist.
No more wishes, no more dreams to find,
Only silence and the echoes left behind.
My first time writing a super long poem! I usually just do one stanza poems but I suddenly felt the need to try writing a really long poem and I thought it would be cool as well!
