Maybe I'm addicted to that feeling
Addicted to that living
Addicted to that painless high that glorious mental healing

Addicted to the smiles, addicted to the lights
Addicted to those pretty girls all dressed in tights
Addicted to the laughter, addicted to the game
Addicted to that feeling that I need to keep me sane

Addicted to that feeling, that feeling deep inside
It starts with just a feeling then it turns into a ride

An angel came to me in a dream
And said
Reality is your perception
Do not get lost searching for heaven
Put on the rose-tinted glasses
And simply appreciate the beauty
And heaven is yours

What starts as the slow beat of a drum
A monotonous beat, a steady ** hum
A clap of the hands and a stomp of the feet
The bass starts to run as the ground shakes beneath
Quickening tempo a building release
A rattling building as fury unleashed
Louder and faster and faster and louder
A thundering rumbling reaching disaster
The bass pounds and the pressure soars
The pressure peaks and the building roars
Crescendo!

When this party is all over
There is but one thing I wonder
Will I remember these flashing lights?
The nights full of ecstasy
Oh unbridled jubilance!
Of precious youthful innocence
Will these still be real to me?

These nights are like photographs
Affixed in my mind
The snapshots unravel
As I remember the times
Like flashing lights they pass
And the rest fades away
No recollection of words
Just the smiles on each face

When this party’s all over
They’re all I’ll have left
Just the flashing of lights
Through my mind at my death
But the scenes are intense,
Memories bring me to life!
Such pure exhilaration
Freed from worry or strife
Not a care in the world
‘Cause the future was bright

Oh to return to those days!
I would gladly take flight
But time is so cruel
And the end is in sight
What was one hell of a party
Now’s just all flashing lights

I saw you on the train
Beautiful green eyes
And that seductive Smile
I saw you on the train
I wonder if I’ll see you again

We rode into the city
We walked across the bridge
The night was warm and breezy
And we were filled with bliss

We danced and danced and danced
And I walked you from the train
We stopped to steal a kiss
And I could not see the rain

We talked through half the night
To the sun’s rise we awoke
We laid there in embrace
And half the day we spoke

But you had to go back home
So many nights I cried
My soul now felt so empty
‘Cause you made it so alive

Down under we were perfect
Up here it’s not the same
But sometimes when I close my eyes
I see you on that train
I wonder if I’ll see you again

You say theres nothing to smile about
And I'd have to say thats true
You say the world's in disarray
And we haven't got a clue

You say theres wars and famines
Disasters quakes and floods
Neighborhoods filled with broken homes
The streets run red with blood

You say we look through shattered eyes
And hear with deafened ears
Refuse to try on others shoes
Or answer to their tears

You say you've lost all hope
That we've gone beyond repair
Our problems are too many
Still the system doesn't care

You say we're all too selfish
That we'll never make it out
You've lost your faith in humanity
Your heart succumbed to doubt

My friend I understand
And I fear these sentiments true
I do not hold the answers
But this I say to you

Hope is only lost
When negativity ensues
You say theres nothing to smile about
I say, I smile for You

Giver of life, bringer of joy
Soother of sorrow, restorer of faith
Great nurturer, healer, and fountain of hope
Unonscious morality, a wisdom unspoke
Center of pride, core of my being
Source of my strength, an angel unseen

Mama loves the ocean and she loves the sunrise
Sun rays in her hair, blue waves in her eyes
A Timeless beauty of infinite grace
An embodiment of love and engulfing embrace
That surrounds me with warmth and compassion and peace
Always at my side and in times of need
When trouble shakes that of this mortal soul
The whispering voice that calls my name home

Sing me sweet songs
Take my mind off the world
Let the melody of your voice
Make my heart stir

Lay your head upon my chest
And whisper softly in my ear
Let the beating of your heart
Be the one to calm my fear

The world outside is cold
But it’s awful warm in here
Let’s make love all day
Come lay with me my dear

We have nothing left but time
So do not rush out there
Just put your hand in mine
And Forever we can share

Outside it is not safe
It’s more than I can bear
So sing me sweet songs
And keep us far from there

Alone we will not make it
I’m afraid we’ll lose our way
So sing me sweet songs, love
And we’ll make our escape

And if a day finds us apart
If I must go away -
Just sing me sweet songs
And in your heart I’ll always stay

Have you seen the Beauty?
Not only to be found in a woman’s body
But in the way she smiles with her eyes
In her soft caress
The way she grips your hand at night
The Beauty is not only in a woman
The gentle breeze fluttering upon your face
The cool moistness of the morning dew
The welcoming warmth of the rising sun
The soft rain pattering on your back
The crackling thunder that ignites the night sky
The Beauty is the rose that grows in concrete
The soulful swaying of the trees
The soothing voices of the many birds
The palpable warmth of the summer night's breeze
The Beauty is not only in the elements
The tapestry of oranges that paint the dusk sky
The infinite hues of the ocean’s blue
The stunning greens of the rolling hills
The vivid whiteness of the stars and moon
But the Beauty is not only in colors
The Beauty is in you and me
And I hope that when you encounter Beauty
You will open your eyes and see

A dog barks
And a baby cries
On an empty street
On a peaceful night

The preacher man prays
The ******* kneels
Hoping for change
Far away as it feels

The businessman sleeps
While the janitor cleans
Neither aware
That they share the same dreams

The teacher drives home
As his students get high
Both only searching
For a way to get by

The terrorist plots
And the soldier stands guard
The hate of the past
Leaving them scarred

The juror stays restless
The athlete’s heart races
Nervous of the challenges
That tomorrow embraces

Two lovers lay down
Not one word is spoken
Night turns to day
And the human thread is woven

Too much entertainment and not enough education
Seems to me the recipe for a wasted generation
But we've reached a point in time where the future isn't waiting
It’s up to us to realize that our own planet needs saving
Jeopardizing the earth we’ve put our entire race at stake
Our chips now in the middle, we’ve all but sealed our fate
The devil grins widely at the spoils of our parlay
Lest we save ourselves by answering the questions that await
How many more caskets overseas will this take?
How many kids will go hungry before we start thinking straight?
How many bombs must we drop before the madness stops?
How many innocent people will be killed by crooked cops?
How many policeman have to be gunned down in the streets
And how many of our cousins will die of ***?
How long will live the reign of the greedy wealth elite?
How many leaders will it take for us to find our feet -
Or will we just lie down with open eyes and watch the whole world sleep?
