Crafting up affection only meant for you,
Pouring it into your hands to only see it
Spill over the sides,
Through the cracks in your fingers like sand.

Pouring my time and energy
Into your hands to watch it
Drop as you uncup your hands
To check your phone, to change the channel.

Pouring a waterfall of kisses
Down your skin
To have you kiss me so lightly
That I don't know if it even happened.

I'm here pouring myself into you,
Pouring out how I feel and
You're letting it all overflow
Without notice that it's pooling around your feet.

There's a fish in my hands,
Around does he swim,
Circle after circle,
A race he'll never win,

He does not dream of leaving my hands,
As he's never seen the ocean,
So Around he swims,
In an ongoing motion,

But eventually my hands grow tired,
And shelter him I can no more,
And so I uncup my hands,
And away does he soar.

UFO
could i hold what i want
as a fiery burning ball in my grasp
boldly matching the beat of my heart?
hands bleeding with the want of it all
my teeth ache with wanting
i slowly uncup my hands to reveal it was
never a star at all.
not a wish, not a flame
just the UFO
my flushed cheeks glow under artificial light
take me back to be reborn again
