When I was just a little girl, And as little girls were taught then, I played with dolls and a teaset, Made mudcakes for food, Wore skirts, made my hair into ponytails as I was let. I saw the boys with the abandon which comes with free wear and play, And I thought to myself, why am I a girl. When I was older, a teen and as teen girls were taught then, Walk, talk, rock softly Don’t draw too much attention Or attempt to explore too much. I saw the boys then with the abandon which comes with freedom to play, sit, be as they want , And I thought to myself, why am I a girl. When I was sixteen, oh sweet sixteen, And as sixteen year old girls were taught then, Don’t wear clothes that show your frame, That’s indecent and you will be in another home and will incur alot of blame. Don’t wander, argue, or express an opinion, You’re a girl, being humble, quiet and gentle becomes you. I saw the boys then with the abandon which comes with freedom of movement and speech, And I thought to myself, why am I a girl. When I was older, and passionately sought a particular career, I was admonished as many other girls in my time, It’s not a career for women, late nights, more men to be around, When you get married, that’s not going to work and troubles will abound. I saw the boys then with the abandon which comes with the freedom of pursuing their dreams, And I thought to myself, why am I a girl. When I was married, and setting a home, working and raising a family, I left my work as many other girls in my time, For my husband to follow his work path, Unquestioningly, unflinchingly, resolutely. I saw the men then with the abandon which comes with freedom of being in control of their lives, And I thought to myself, why am I a girl. But this is just the surface of my questioning being a girl, When boys and men around tried their stunts on girls and women, I questioned my existence. When many girls and women I know, Were told to stay mum on men close who took advantage of them I questioned my existence. When In the workspace, Women got paid less than men because their salary were subtly looked at as secondary salaries, Or needed to speak louder to be heard, I questioned my existence. When the onus of keeping a relationship working was the woman’s responsibility largely, I questioned my existence. When a woman got hit by her spouse, Its she who may have provoked him. When a man strayed, Its she who was not a good enough wife that he had to look elsewhere. I questioned my existence. The atrocities many men are capable of, The filth many men spread, **** hate, aggression, manipulation and more Abuse, gaslighting inside closed doors, Wearing a mask of sophistication outside Animalistic and entitled beings to the core. My apologies to men who are not, And I know some, But they are but a handful, Too insignificant in the larger way the world works. But then I see me, A harbinger of change, In my home and around. Raising my son differently, Advocating for change purposively, Actioning resolutely what’s right, Woman for women with all my might. I see so many more women now who retain their selves and are beacons of hope, They don’t sit around and just mope. And I am glad I am a girl, And I question no more, I question no more.

THE ***** WHISPERER
Whirlpool of whirling quaint Inequality brewing in the Winepress of smithereens Fragile polity. Voices of weariness cried Out from the wasteyard of Waste for succour, Pointing fingers of Recrimination towards The abyss of drouth , Entangled in conflicts Of interest. Winds of improvised emblem Bearing hunchback of Woes, Raising hands from the Drowning deep sea For rescue like A dejected beautiful Vigaro in a Turbulent ocean of quarrel With her spouse. Whereas reddish fluids of life Runs across the same veins And arteries of haves And haves-not but Cottage of interests Hoisting avalanche of Rainbow-coloured flags Standing aloof on the Pole of misrule, Demarcating their interests. No accommodation for wants In the corridor of affluence. Wants on a trade mission With wealthy but caged in The confinement of wealth. Winds of inequality blew Whirler of wants into The marrow of the Haves-not. Rains of inequality passing Through a lockage of lack Into the improvised, Doling-out poverty to Gain the control of Wealth. Alas! Blindness sees inner Vision of darkness from The households of political lamia. Alas! Deafness hears Discordant vague voices Of failure from the forest of frustration. Alas! Dumbness speaks Language of gnomes out Of the vale of forgotten treasures. Alas! A four year tenancy turning into decades of challenges. But we shall revive our hope and raise our voices tomorrow.

HYMN OF INEQUALITY
The punitive silences, the bad atmosphere they generate, the mind-games they use to try to **** you in are telltale signs of the toxic person. It could be your in-laws, a parent, coworker, your boss or spouse, a sibling, a roommate, boyfriend or girlfriend, someone you want out of the house. Toxic people want to make you miserable. Especially if you're a decent sort, they hone in on you like a heat-seeking missile. They spew their negativity and blame it on you. They lie constantly, or twist the facts to suit their changing needs of the moment and they never apologize (so don't expect an apology, ever). With a toxic person there is no reciprocity. They sprinkle their toxic dust on you. It makes them feel better. Their ulterior goal is to demean you, to make you feel smaller. They project their worst tendencies onto you, find fault with you for traits you don't possess--- a shadow of the **** that lurks inside them. They try to dictate the emotional atmosphere through their attitude or twisted mood. They drain you of your energy, bring you down, They'll always find a reason why your good news isn't great news. Their agenda is to cut you down to their size, to manipulate and control to **** you over while they play the injured party. Confront the bully. Speak up to the manipulator, the trickster, the backstabber. but beyond a certain point there is no point in arguing with them. Don't try to change the toxic person. You can't. You'd have better luck changing an orangutan into **** sapiens. Only a shrink could change them, and then only if they hit rock-bottom. Don't try to justify yourself. It's a waste of time which would only draw you deeper into their net. Set boundaries to keep their negativity in check. Stop trying to please them. Let that toxic somebody in your life know you're onto them and they can't get away with it anymore. Don't fall into their trap, don't get caught up in their life-dramas or try to get them out of trouble. Don't let them instill guilt in you. But try not to take their toxicity personally. Remember, it's them, not you. You are not to blame though they desperately want you to feel you've done something wrong. If necessary (and if possible), delete the toxic person from your life and move on. Know when enough is enough. Saying good riddance doesn't necessarily mean you hate them, it means your own well-being comes first. Immunize yourself. Preserve your inner strength. Set your own rules. And, when possible, just walk away.

Already over the sea from her old spouse she comes, the blonde goddess whose frosty wheels bring day. Why do you hurry, Aurora? Hold off, so may the birds shed ritual blood each year for Memnon's shade. Now it's good to lie in my mistress's tender arms; if ever, now it's good to feel her near. Now drowsiness is richest, the morning air is cool, and birds sing shrilly from their tender throats. Why do you hurry, dreaded by men and dreaded by girls? Draw back your dewy reins with your crimson hand. The sailor marks the stars more clearly before you rise, not raoming aimlessly across the sea; the traveller, though weary, arises when you come, and the soldier sets his savage hand to arms; you're first to see the farmers wield their heavy hoes and to call slow oxen under the curving yoke; you rob boys of their sleep and give them over to schools, where tender hands must bear the savage switch; and you send reckless fools to pledge themselves in court, where they take ruinous losses through one word; the lawyer and the pleader take no delight in you, for each must rise and wrangle with new torts; and you ensure that women's chores are never done, calling the spinner's hands back to her wool. All this I'd bear; but who would bear that girls must rise at dawn, unless himself he has no girl? How many times I've wished Night would not yield to you, the stars not fade and flee before your face! How many times I've wished the wind would smash your wheels, your steeds would stumble on a cloud and fall! Jealous, why do you hurry? If your son is black, it's since his mother's heart is that same color. How I wish Tithonus could still tell tales of you: no goddess would be more disgraced in heaven. Since he is endless eons old, you rise and flee at dawn to the chariot the old man hates, but if some Cephalus were lying in your arms, you'd cry out, 'O run slowly, steeds of night! ' Why should this lover pay, if your husband withers with age? Was I the matchmaker who brought him to you? Remember how much sleep was given to her loved youth by Luna - and she's beautiful as you. The father of gods himself, to see you all the less, joined two nights into one for his desires. I'd finished my complaint. You could tell she'd heard: she blushed; and yet the day rose at its usual time.

Purity is not just about virginity, It's also about dignity, Purity is not restricted to femininity, but requires the protection of chivalry, and regard for responsibility. Purity is not innocence out of ignorance, It's making a choice that's different. Even when facing a challenge. Purity is not just about hiding behind a white veil, Or donning a white spotless gown. It's about going through a season of waiting, even if it can be tough. Purity is not just a state of being, It's a state of knowing, valuing and protecting... The sacredness of a marriage. The loyalty to one's spouse. The unity of two to form one flesh. Not giving up one's body to all the rest, but leaving it for God's best.

The Affair
*‘Twas the night before surgery, and all through the house, no one was stirring, not even my spouse. Suddenly I awoke with such a terrible fright “Oh, my! It’s 11:45, and I must eat before midnight!” So I ran for the kitchen with nay a moment to spare, because I cannot eat after midnight; No way! I wouldn’t dare! There I stood in the middle of the room, staring at the fridge wondering what to consume. Then it hit me; “I know what to make!” It’s fast and it’s tasty, a BIG chocolate milkshake! But when I turned on the blender it made such a loud noise, that it woke up my husband, and it woke up our boys. So they came in and stared at me, much to my demise They all looked so bewildered as they rubbed their sleepy eyes. Then they saw the blender and realized what was there, “You all might as well go back to bed, ‘cause I’m not about to share!” I poured it into a very large glass; I filled it to the top. Then I drank until it was gone, & I felt like I could pop. One by one, the hours crept by, as I laid awake counting sheep. That stupid milkshake made my stomach ache, and I couldn’t go back to sleep! ‘Twas the night before surgery, and there in my house; they all slept soundly, including my spouse.*

~ 'Twas The Night Before Surgery ~
Today I had a talk with someone that made me question my perspective on love. What is love to you? I asked a close friend and she said love is to be able to never get tired of a person and to appreciate their flaws. Love is to want to compromise. Then I asked her, even if they cheated on you? And she said no. As I had this certain talk with someone that made me question love, he started off by saying that in the bible, it is written that one should not marry someone who doesn't believe in the God of Abraham. Now what does that mean? He told me that in modern day, it means you should not marry a person who is not a Catholic. But why would God say that right? God loves you unconditionally. When I say unconditional, i mean God will love you no matter what, even if you commit ****** or any other sin. So he told me, "So 'believing in the God of Abraham' actually means understanding and believing in the idea of unconditional love. "Unconditional love is required to keep two people happy together. The bible says you cannot be together forever with someone who doesn't believe in unconditional love." Here's an example that this certain someone told me about. If you believe in conditional love and marry someone who doesn't believe in unconditional love, he will not understand where you are coming from. If you cheat on him, and ask him to take you back, he won't because he doesn't understand the idea of unconditional love. Rather, he'd be angry that you even have nerve to cheat on him and ask for his forgiveness. He would think that you're crazy and selfish to expect him to forgive you. "Why? Because in his world, there is no unconditional love. He doesn't understand it. Why? Because he doesn't know an example of unconditional love (God of Abraham) It's only logic." I asked him if he believes in unconditional love and he said "I believe that there is no other love than unconditional love." And that makes me question the concept of love. If I think about it, I'll love my family no matter what happens, even if they betray me. If i can't love my life long partner in the same way I love my family, then that is not love. I don't think I can tell anyone other than my family that I love them because unconditional love is the only kind of love. If someone cheated on me, I don't think I will be able to forgive them and take them back unless I love them unconditionally. He told me another scenario. Where your spouse cheats on you and you take him back because you love him unconditionally. He says he loves you but doesn't understand what unconditional love is. "Now overtime you look into his eyes and say that you love him, he'll smile or something like that but that idiot won't understand the gravity of what you are saying. He'll only think that you love him like this limited definition of love. It's like there is a glass wall between you and him. He can see you but can't hear you. But he is okay with it because he doesn't know that the glass wall can be taken out of the way. But you know better. Can you imagine how frustrating it'll be?" "You - I love you Him - I love you, too You - No! Not like that, I love you unconditionally Him - Yes, I love you too You - No no.. UNCONDITIONALLY Him - Huh? You - :(" So then I proceeded to ask him, "What do you do from there?" And he said, "Take a deep breath and continue loving unconditionally." At last, he said to me, "Good luck loving someone after this." I laughed. Because he was right. Now I have a total different definition of love. Unconditional love is a sacrifice, a beautiful sacrifice. And I'm not sure if I'm capable of making that sacrifice.

"You - I love you Him - I love you, too You - No!

We are a team, That have a dream… We don’t stop, no not even when we drop. other teams are lame , cause we got game. Sprint, pass, shoot, dribble, assist, defense Thats our life as we thrive. This is our house And the game is our spouse. We grieve every loss, cause we hate losing more than we love winning. But the next game We go up down, down up back at it with the roundup We get hungry to get revenge, on the team that Can’t avenge but we don’t rest til we’re the best. We’ll be on top one day and they’ll pop. We steal like thief’s in the night, We wont lose without a fight, We have the pace, and we keep up with the race. There are setbacks, slumps, bumps, But that only makes us stronger And it makes us last longer. We fall as one , rise as one, That’s what makes us family

There once was a girl called Goldilocks Who lived in a forest filled with phlox She did not to have a soul to play with And in the forest she would often drift She once became lost, the lonely, little girl The one with the head full of golden curls Panicked and scared, she came upon a house But it appeared that everyone there was out She helped herself to the food, cold and hot She tried the chairs until one hit the spot Too tired to try to make her way back She hit the sheets to take a nap Very picky was this lost, lonely tot Some porridge was too cold, some too hot Beds too soft or too hard to sleep tight Only one she found that felt just right Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear were soon back on arrival After a long day of fishing for their survival What? Who had their nose in each of their bowls? Gone was one porridge that to the brim was full And who had sat in and broke one of the chairs? It looked like a human by some strands of golden hair! Hunters? Oh, no! Could they be on the prowl? The bears sniffed around and started to growl Baby Bear was the first to see The little girl catching some Z's "Oh, cool!" exclaimed little Baby Bear "Can we keep her? Can she stay here?" They all came upon Goldilocks all snug in bed Papa Bear was now furious and began to see red "And you call us animals!" he yelled loudly at her "Who gives you the right?! Where are your manners?!" Goldilocks woke up with an ear piercing shriek Facing three hairy bears, she could not speak Out the house she ran, far enough to see her home near And that was the last that Goldilocks saw of those bears! "She was just a scared, little girl", Mama Bear said to her spouse "We could have stopped her and let her stay in our house!" Papa Bear, disagreeing with her foolish trust,  swore **** it! I told you the last one out locks the door!!!" "You begin feeding them...they are so clever You'll never get rid of them. They stick around forever!" Mama Bear refused to fight, for Papa Bear refused to bend And that is all there is to the story. THE END!

No ****** No ***
It wouldn't hurt, you know; if you fell in love with a person much younger than you and if it doesn't get that far to hell with it, you did your best behind prison bars You could at least try to kiss the lips of the same *** or get lost in the ambiguity of a polygamous marriage Maybe take a day off from work and tell all your family and friends that you were born an asexual, furry fan looking for honest companionship That'll hit 'em right in the kisser; leave their egos bruised, burned, and running back to the arms of tradition Perhaps you'll never learn to love and accept yourself; Perhaps you'll stay in a bad relationship with no way out; It wouldn't hurt to cheat, lie, and steal from your spouse; It's not like you started the fire in the first place.

A little white lie is harmless If it's told in the right way If you use it in a compliment You can just make someone's day To tell the truth is what we want But, the truth we can not handle So, a white lie comes in handy Instead of burning both ends of the candle The human brain cannot accept The truth if it will hurt them, so A little lie protects them From the truth that they all know Tell someone they're beautiful Although they look like crap A little lie is harmless Just don't fall into the trap Of using lies to get through life It's not the way at all A little lie's no problem But, a big one...it's your call You tell fibs to little kids But they learn the truth as time goes by You tell them fibs to comfort them And to make sure they don't cry You lie a bit to your dear spouse To make them feel ok A white lie is a comfort It might just make their day But, please...you must be careful when the answer is 'You're hot" If your wife asks "do I look fat?" don't say..."compared to what?"

healthy relationships can never be developed overnight. Conscious efforts, thoughtful gestures, quality time and sacrifices are the keys to become a healthy couple. Developing strong relation with your partner demands effort and time. And to make your relation everlasting, a consistent positive approach is a must. Healthy couples always keep a positive approach towards their relation with each other. Healthy couples build their relationship with everyday efforts. They agree to the fact that relationships need regular nurturing. At times we get caught in the negative spur of everyday life. We are having problems at job, finances are failing, kids are sick, arguments with colleagues and many such turmoils of daily life influence our emotions and ultimately our relationships. Healthy couples always focus on the positive qualities of the partner in rough times. Whenever you are frustrated, make a conscious effort to focus on the things you admire and appreciate about your spouse.

Surveillance is the cornerstone to my dictatorship Over your life I hold you firmly with my invader's grip To create strife To spread fear among the vigilant citizens And make you feel like you're not fitting in It's all part of my devious plan To trap you in my surveillance van I've got owls perched in trees And satellites floating in space Pictures make the world freeze So I can see your pretty face I start to drone on and on Your indifferent mouth yawns You spy on the clock Waiting for me to stop You stare through me The way I stare into your house Hell is 200 degrees When you find your lovely spouse She doesn't have my pictures She hasn't read your scripture I must've gotten my information wrong I thought my surveillance was strong My mistakes rule me with an iron fist And they throw me in prison I thought I could live in surveillance bliss But this isn't the life I envisioned

Cytherea, thy dainty Adonis is dying! Ah, what shall we do? O Nymphs, let it echo, the voice of your crying, The greenwood through! O Forest-maidens, smite on the breast, Rend ye the delicate-woven vest! Let the wail ring wild and high: 'Ah for Adonis!' cry. O Sappho, how canst thou chant the bliss Of Kypris — after such day as this? 'Oh Adonis, thou leavest me — woe for my lot! And Eros, my servant, availeth me not!' So wails Cytherea, grief-distraught. 'Who shall console me for thee? There is none — Not Ares my god-lover, passionate one Who sware in his jealousy forth to hale Hephaestus my spouse from his palace, if he Dared but to lift his eyes unto me. Not he can console me, Adonis, for thee!' Wail for Adonis, wail!

A Lament For Adonis
If you know the tale of El Chapo, You know then what will befall Even the person who's known as The most famous drug lord of all. Exporting more drugs to America Than anyone else in the past, El Chapo lived like a king On the millions of dollars he amassed. You didn't mess with El Chapo. Woe betide you if you did! Not only would you suffer, So would your spouse or your kid. Back in the 90s El Chapo Found himself in a scrape And landed in a Mexican prison, But he found a way to escape. A protracted stay in the slammer For him was not in the cards: He bought his way to freedom By bribing the prison guards. For thirteen years El Chapo Evaded capture and hid. He kept up his shady dealings While trying to stay off the grid. Authorities in Chicago Gave this man on the run Notoriety as Public Enemy Number One. In 2015 the drug lord Was back in prison again. This time he fled through a tunnel Dug by some of his men. One day marines closed in. They thought they'd caught their man. El Chapo held a child In his arms as he ran. Soon El Chapo got sloppy. No one could catch him, he thought. Alas, the marines tracked him down. Back to a cell he was brought. Now the Americans want him. Extradite him, they say. El Chapo will be an example To show that crime doesn't pay. So, say good-bye, El Chapo, As you sadly wipe your tears. We hope you like your new home; You're going to be there for years. Yes, say good-bye, El Chapo, To your Sinaloa Cartel. A maximum security prison Will be your new citadel. - by Bob B

SONNET TRIBUTE: HOLLIE COUCH
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, for you are mine Never let me go, grip me tight like a vineyard vine. I love that pretty rose that your garden did grow Betwixt those long beautiful thighs of strength Exposing that sea shell pink jewel, I do know. Your garden is so unique, it’s a one of a kind Such parts are so delicate, that the slightest touch Produces tropical showers that fill my mind. Flowing from your meadow, and dripping from Those soft sensitive pink rose petals, Golden rain drops that taste O’ so sweet. Thy lips O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: Honey and milk are under my tongue: Causing the lips of those that are asleep to speak, Every time that they meet. I love all of your natural beauty, And I love every lock of your hair Swaying from a beautiful face, worthy of my stare. How fair and how pleasant art thou. O love, for delights! Your calm green eyes in my trance suddenly gave me visions, Of hypnotic pupil shamrock sights! I love your seductive soft lips, One kiss upon them, takes me on so many trips. My precious 1, your body is a wonderland I cannot resist, I need for this dream to come true And if so, I will forever do, everything for you. You are the Garden of Eden, brought back to life My only thought now is, I must betroth to have you, As my wife! Behold, thou art fair, my love: Behold, thou art fair; thou hast, Shamrock Eyes!

Hypnotized By Shamrock Eyes
How will we progress today? Will we risk life attending Mosque, Or have an affair with our spouse's boss? Will we take the dog out for a walk, Step on a landmine, use plastic straws? Perhaps we'll play with our kids today, Or call Amber Alert, wait scared, and pray? Will we defy authority with a righteous tone, Or leave our tail tucked, like a dog with his bone? Will we gauge goods today for our Vegan menu, Or show a distention as millions today do? Will we drive around town for cheaper gas, Or choose our pickings from picked-over trash? Do you sling eggs and sausage for sub-minimum wages, Or attend a visitation in a tortured MADD rage? Will you tee off at eight, or do a spin class, Or sit solitary watching the hourglass? Did we place our script at the shiny drugstore, Or wade across water to Jordan's fair shore? Will we question the teacher at our kid's school, Or play Avatar falling off our bar stool? Did you set a reminder on your AI phone For chicken delivery to your suburban home? Will you lift copper tubing from construction sites, Proclaiming your station in life gives you right? Do I recline in my La-Z-Boy for a nap with a book, Or teach someone to live with a line and a hook? Will you take out your family, Are you last on your list, Will you reciprocate a handshake Or raise a gloved fist? Our words can't bind all our wounds, Few are born with silver spoons, We're not wrapped in silk cocoons. A metamorphosis is coming To this world of gloom, A rousing group flight, And it can't come too soon.
