A baby cries nearby, parents trying to soothe
Music plays overhead, trying to create the mood
People conversing and sharing here and there
Caught up in their own world without a care
Its election year and all of the white men
try to frame the issues that matter to you and me
but in the end things will always continue to be
mostly about those around us and what is immediately
I want to know not just my world but yours too
I want to learn what matters to you and you and you
Will you reach out your hand and explore the unknown
Will you let yourself go and let your mind roam
Just think the world is big and people are many
But what we have in common is plenty
Family, friends, work, and play
That is everything people worry about today
So stop in your daily trudge of obligations
Look, listen, and be willing to say saluations

smattering of us are about
small things that remind

smells that have aroused

sounds uttered in good and grief

sights of shadows framed for dispaly

saluations, sorrows and sweetness

surrounds us snugly

smatterings of you are shadows

seeping away slowly

swiftly leaving motionless

spaces no longer secure

sanity waning likes seasons

secrets spilllng

smatterings of me are emerging

spreading to seek warmth and light

searching for grounding adn firmness

safe that i am stong

smatterings of me are here--success
