"rae" poems
You come in late, wiping your lips. What did I leave untouched on the doorstep--- White Nike, Streaming between my walls? Smilingly, blue lightning Assumes, like a meathook, the burden of his parts. The police love you, you confess everything. Bright hair, shoe-black, old plastic, Is my life so intriguing? Is it for this you widen your eye-rings? Is it for this the air motes depart? They rae not air motes, they are corpuscles. Open your handbag. What is that bad smell? It is your knitting, busily Hooking itself to itself, It is your sticky candies. I have your head on my wall. Navel cords, blue-red and lucent, Shriek from my belly like arrows, and these I ride. O moon-glow, o sick one, The stolen horses, the fornications Circle a womb of marble. Where are you going That you **** breath like mileage? Sulfurous adulteries grieve in a dream. Cold glass, how you insert yourself Between myself and myself. I scratch like a cat. The blood that runs is dark fruit--- An effect, a cosmetic. You smile. No, it is not fatal.

The Other
Just sitting there, Staring Eyes full of pain and sorrow, but feeling nothing. All the pain and suffering has taken every good thing from her. Her smile, her laugh, The way she used to love life, Gone. With now feeling nothing, But the emptiness that was left with her. -Cassidy Rae

Numbness.
Reading the works by Sally, Vicki, Catherine(SoulSurvivor), Ryn, Deborah, Elizabeth, and Pamela Rae, is akin to drinking champagne from a crystal flute. Me, cheap beer from a Mason Jar. copyright:(revised) June 03, 2015

About Me (Bio- Non Poem)
I wonder if clouds know they're beautiful When they sit and watch from the the sky I wonder if they know how dangerous and threatening they are When thunder cries out I wonder if they know how they turn colors When the sun hits them just right I walk to work wondering if they know I wish I could live up there with them I could be puffy and white And no one would say anything Because that's how clouds are I wish I could reflect the sun But only be full of rain If I was full of rain I wouldn't be full of emotion Clouds don't become angry Or sad Clouds don't fall in love And realize their love wasn't real I wonder if clouds know how truly breath-taking they are If I could stay and lay on the grass all day And watch them I would I've driven through clouds once It was like a dream I pulled over and felt the fleeting puffs wisp by I felt the rain wet my skin I felt the cold penetrate my clothes I felt the wind tangle my hair And most of all I felt the thrill of being in the clouds I wonder if they thought of me as beautiful As much as I saw them that way

You know who is awesome (r&b/ rappers/singers)
In my "Thought for the Day XLIII" (43), I spoke of poets that have been with me, and supported me for quite some time. Sally and Pradip have been with me since my first posting, "1894", nearly two years ago, and I have  "adopted"  Vicki, Catherine, Ryn, Deborah, Pamela Rae,and others along the way. There is Quinn, Phil, Pradip, Francie, Frankie J, Mike, John, Nat, SE Reimer, Sverre, "The 'Ole Storyteller!" and,"Larry, Moe, and Curly Joe!"   Unfortunately, I cannot list everyone, in fear of overlooking writers who, collectively, mean so much to me. Please forgive me for that. I will continue to "do my best" for all of the poets/writers/contributors to the HP site. I do not write for monetary remuneration, but for relaxation and recreation, with the end result, hopefully, bringing a smile to my peers. I thank all of you for allowing me to attempt, and occasionally, reach that goal. Sincerely Richard Riddle- June 03, 2015

A Bit of Gratitude
*In this country I fear for my life Violence today is far from your everyday fight This just doesn't feel right To sit here and not write What has happened to my little Bahama land ? Today people rob and **** for fun Toddlers aren't afraid to wave a gun Im sick to my stomach as I look in disbelief Could being killed be my new destiny What has happened to my little Bahama land ? Innocent people caught in crossfire All from stupid incidents that had been transpired 130 murders! Rings in my ears Young children around me shedding tears What has happened to my little Bahama land ? Sun , sand and sea? Means nothing if innocently killed mothers cant enjoy it with me I am the youth and I will be the change I'll do it hand by hand I beg plead and ask What has happened to my little ol Bahama land ? ~ Rae Lauren*

Paranoia
J R died I guess many cried J R Ewing, Larry Hagman, son of Broadway’s Peter Pan offspring of a famous clan I guess a decent man another J R died, Jenny Rae I guess many cried but not likely fans from afar perhaps her nephew in the corner bar when he recalled through his wine soaked haze younger days, when his Jenny Rae would meet him payday and give him a five she earned keepin’ those old folks alive well, cleanin’ up their slop may not have been keeping anybody alive but she did it just the same even long after the cancer came and pain buckled her over on the bus, she kept goin’ smiling at their ancient vacant stares when she could when she was gone when she passed, curled up like a baby in that noisy ER there were no headlines about that J R only another wretched woman paid to clean up slop who hunkered faithfully over her mop to wipe up the remnants of Jenny Rae to earn her pittance of pay perhaps for another nephew or other lost son of an angry day

Simple.
A day, not so very long ago, our lives were made complete. GOD sent us such a blessing, a child so soft and sweet. A gentle, pretty little girl, With a smile that catches your eye. Chestnut hair, and a button nose, eyes as blue as the morning sky. As he looks down upon this Earth of yours and mine. He knows he sent an Angel, as a blessing and a sign. As I watch you grow I come to realize, How very special you are In your Grandma’s eye. Kathleen Kohl/Levinski
