"potion" poems
I want to dip my tongue, inside your flavor. With no waver, I savor your taste. With a desires pace, your liquids turned to paste, a love potion laced with our grace. Delicious lips glistening with ours juices. A cocktail saturated with your nectar. Our fountain we await, satisfaction at a hieghted state. I greet you with my pleasures at an amazing pace, our lips embrace lacerated by my tongue -- I trespass your pearly gates, where your pleasure awaits, I await - at the mercy of our warm embrace.

At times I heard the songs of the giants who opted to sing for a glass of wine! Like Omar Khayyam would sing to the grove of vine, while singing their lullabies they wouldn’t mind, defying the bloomer stars in the moonlights gladly treading on the black alleys of the night. Didn't they budge, didn't they bend to pick up   a potion of the sea, billowing in the dark? But they opted out, just for a glass of wine! To paint a glimpse of that gorgeous Saqi till now they shun, lending the sun a paintbrush, ‘cause "if only it was colourful enough,” yet the sun paints the enduring shades of the blue yonder. But they turned around—just for a glass of wine! The moon hanging low over the ocean took a pause. The earth weighed down so deep is brimful! Every sunrise paints new, loves to shine on once more That delved-deep earth vintage taste, cooled in age-old,   now close by the hands breathe in, full of warm south. Yet they opted out—just for a glass of wine! Even the time is speechless, ask me not but why. Still keeps an ear bent on the wall of the leaning sky.   Nor those who pop out with an inside scoop are ever drunk. Nor they leak out, it’s a sea off the sea or Abe-Hayath. It ain’t that small, it is the deathless spring of elixir!

For a Glass of Wine
We need negativity It's the only thing more potent than the potion of positivity While we concern ourselves with the priority of support that positivity brings Negativity is what makes up move It's the faults we strive to perfect In the aspect of perfect Perfect itself is seen as positive to the point of negative outcomes To pick on looks or physical attributes To be stepped on These are the negative effects of favoritism That let humans know they are humans to other humans in the best of ways It's the negative the humbles And the positive that opens possibilities Only to fall on the cushion It's the negative that wraps the fear into a burrito and the positivity that plates it on hope It fills us while the other gives flavor And while you might disagree I just talking about human equality

Negative equals positive
You thought I was that type: That you could forget me, And that I'd plead and weep And throw myself under the hooves of a bay mare, Or that I'd ask the sorcerers For some magic potion made from roots and send you a terrible gift: My precious perfumed handkerchief. **** you! I will not grant your cursed soul Vicarious tears or a single glance. And I swear to you by the garden of the angels, I swear by the miracle-working icon, And by the fire and smoke of our nights: I will never come back to you.

Route 84 would not lend me the light of a star last night Radio blazing at 75 mph nonsense noise to chew gum by Crackling political commentary Static of distance and thick clouds Invisible mountains blocking Memories seeping through the cracks coating the music in a film I rub my eyes watch myself punch alert buttons But it’s the angels’ jukebox tonight Roll down the window Watch the heat escape Summer again I am building a castle of ancient stones pulverized by relentless tides Dragged across maps by mastodons and mammoth glaciers The scouring hiss the ocean sighs Time has lulled these smoothly rolling them in the softest hands of sand and gels of life’s comings and goings tenderly tumbling in the millionth moonrise— Time deposits them here wet and glistening For the girl with the plaid two-piece to gather Shoulders sun-burnt barely say one week only, one week of the fifty two “It’s the time of the season…” and daddies on the beach are watching…. She has chosen yet another stone And the castle continues— in oblivion to all but her legend…      The queen will be safe here      from the rabble      The disgraced Tristan will surely seek her      Among these lofty cliffs      Between the raging circuit of the tide      Here winds forbid the vengeful mob      Here lovers learn      the debt of love’s bad timing      “Drink ye all of it!”      --the potion that assigns our sorrow….      She will not sleep—      while I chew this gum--  GUM? Roll down the window! Angels escape with the heat Waking me with the brush of their wings As that eighteen-wheeler hugs my flank And leans on the horn Lights flashing Rude rumbling under right tires Tantrum of snow In the draft of mass and velocity …and the angels? Hymn to Aphrodite by Sappho loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Immortal Aphrodite, throned in splendor! Wile-weaving daughter of Zeus, enchantress, and beguiler! I implore you, dread mistress, discipline me no longer with love's anguish! But come to me once again in kindness, heeding my prayers as you have done before; O, come Divine One, descend once again from heaven's golden dominions! Your chariot yoked to love's consecrated doves, their multitudinous pinions aflutter, you once came gliding from the utmost heights, to the dark-bosomed earth. Swiftly they came and vanished, leaving you, O my Goddess, smiling, your face eternally beautiful, asking me what unfathomable longing compelled me to cry out. Asking me what I sought in my hopeless, bewildered desire. Asking, "Who has harmed you, why are you so alarmed, my poor Sappho? Whom should Persuasion summon here?" "Though today she flees love, soon she will pursue you; spurning love's gifts, soon she shall return them; tomorrow she will woo you, however unwillingly!" Come to me now, most Holy Aphrodite! Release me from my heavy heartache and anguish; grant me all I request, be once again my ally and protector! "Hymn to Aphrodite" is the only poem by Sappho of ****** to survive in its entirety. The poem survived intact because it was quoted in full by Dionysus, a Roman orator, in his "On Literary Composition," published around 30 B.C. A number of Sappho's poems mention or are addressed to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. It is believed that Sappho may have belonged to a cult that worshiped Aphrodite with songs and poetry. If so, "Hymn to Aphrodite" may have been composed for performance within the cult. We do know that Sappho was held in very high regard. For instance, when Sappho visited Syracuse the residents were so honored they erected a statue to commemorate the occasion! During Sappho's lifetime, coins of ****** were minted with her image. Furthermore, Sappho was called "the Tenth Muse" and the other nine were goddesses. Dear Friends, I had composed this poem in 2008 after reading an article by a Lady Doctor who was a Biologist, and had initially posted it on 'Poemhunter.com'. Hope you will like it! Thanks, - Raj PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY OF LOVE ! Love’s physics and chemistry, has forever remained a mystery! There are no permanent equations to resolve, Love's unseen wave like force! It travels through three dimensional space, At frequencies higher than electromagnetic waves! It remains unhindered by barriers of cast, creed, or clime, Giving two beating hearts a feel of the divine! It generates a magnetic force field, making two hearts in unison beat! Yet Biologists claim that a chemical called (PEA) Phenylethylamine, - Triggers loves molecules in the human mind! Chocolates are rich in this PEA content they say, And is a perfect gift on the Valentine’s Day! The chemical Dopamine makes the lovers to glow and feel fine, When they live on love and fresh air and may even forget to dine! While Norepinephrine, which stimulates our adrenaline production, Makes the lovers world go round in a joyous motion! But Oxytoxin that 'cuddling chemical',  requires constant contact for its effects to prevail! Cupid’s arrows may be dipped in its pail, Before those arrows on lovers begin to hail! Creating unbearable attraction leading to infatuation, Making two hearts beat as one with love’s magic potion! But such feelings remain for a limited duration, Varying with people with different emotions! In a 'mercurial type' loves ecstasy gets mixed, - And they frequently require a PEA fix! But those who stick to a single mate, Are said to be rich in Vasopressin content! And finally when infatuation gradually subsides, Chemicals triggered by Endorphine slowly overtakes, When calmness and stability with loving bond prevails! This Endorphine is reputed to be rather addictive, And firmly binds those forces released by PEA, - which are rather seductive! (All Copyrights with Raj Nandy of New Delhi)

Reminisce on all the early days Stuck inside of a drunken daze I went based off of all your fleeting words Couldn't begin to think it all would hurt Back of the head Look over shoulder All that you've said I go over and over I want to believe that you're honest and true But you held my head under water, the coldest of blue I'm angry I'm mad I release it in tears Nowhere near the pain I've felt all these years I inflict on myself some sort of grounding Body or heart I'm used to the pounding Back of the head Look over shoulder All that you've said I go over and over I want to believe that you're honest and true But you held my head under water The coldest of blue Hypnotize me with the lies I'll listen to it all despite Pain distracts from desire to die Who lives through this more? You or I? Maybe I'll take control of all you do My fake *** puppet Serve my desires in the end for you Back of the head Look over shoulder All that you've said I go over and over I want to believe that you're honest and true But you held my head under water The coldest of blue It took a lie for you to show me devotion My own ****** up version of a love potion Treat me good so you feel secure Accept others admiration based on a fear Back of the head Look over shoulder All that you've said I go over and over I want to believe that you're honest and true But you held my head under water The coldest of blue My makeup is running and I'm feeling so broken Its all a ******* joke The words you have spoken I empty my soul all the well For a person so ******* full of themselves I suffer and shudder Bury all of it under I cant begin to imagine Somebody other Than you So drown me in the blue I'll take it for you For the sake of something new Back of the head Look over shoulder All that you've said I go over and over I want to believe that you're honest and true But you held my head under water The coldest of blue Is it for me or is it for you? Is it for me or is it for you? Is it for me or is it for you? Prove it If only To feel good from what you do

Sometimes I hate this This thing that I'm born with It causes so many unnecessary fights It causes so many stupid problems I can't go to a regular school I can't have a regular job The moment I say the word autism I've already had enough I don't know what the positive sides are Of something that makes me so different I only know the negative parts Because that's the part that makes me conflicted Why would I love something that has ruined my chance for a normal life? How could I accept something that refuses my acceptance? All they tell me is you need help you need help, you need help, you need help And I get help The people who help have helped But even though I can function better No one can take away this internal anger I feel inadequate, I feel dumb I feel sad, I feel numb I can't speak of my emotions although I got feelings all the time I wish there was a potion that made it possible for me to speak about it in an other way than rhyme I wish I could say what was really on my mind I wish I could say how my autism makes me want to die I wish I could say I love myself in any shape or form I wish I could say that I can conform to the norm But I can't so I play league And then I get mad When they say "autistic screech" Because it's so hilarious Living with this everyday Because it's so hilarious That this will never ******* change

You take my breath away You sweep my feet out from under me You catch me by surprise When I look in your eyes And I see That you believe in me Want me to succeed You freeze all of the pain that is hibernating in my heart You melt me down until you see nothing but emotion Give me potion That shows my weaknesses Forcing me to turn them into strengths And fate has brought you to me Just keep smiling and I promise you'll never lose me You know exactly what to say to bring me out of my dark place And that's not easy Ask anybody who knows me You make my pain subside And I realize That I'm alive when you are near me But you don't even see past the wall that's called friendship You have all these dudes talking to you But I'll treat you like a princess I want to defend your honor Harbor all the feelings I have And write so they can make sense Because honestly you've taken my sense of direction My moral compass leads directly to you Throw that thing in the garbage and I'll still go directly to you You see you might not see that I believe in you and me And if there is a you and me I swear to love you unconditionally You have my head spinning And in my dizziness I only see you You are the bright light that brings me out of the fog You are my North Star I look at you And I'm home

Potion of Life
for Harlon Rivers the river potion, the river portent, the river potent it is all of these and not one he is bank sided, observing the false idols, the image mirrored in the glass of the river transfigured molecularly he becomes something ferried frothily, forcefully as if a twig or a small thing of human manufacture, an object tossed up airborne-repeatedly his poetry: the clash of particles at the many junctions of objects and water, eddies and the currents, ceaselessly circumnavigating,   searching revisionary pathways directed, but randomized, prisoner of the flows, servant to the wind's directives and the earths magnetic indivisible undulating waves thinking, this life, its unsteady gait,  the irreverent wavering of drunkenness resultant from potent potions, portents of inopportune position in him, my own histories,  my poetic recordings also become water borne, watermarked, replayed back for me, for erasure, censure, closure and rededication this River is a tapestry, a torn map, drawn on broken shards of slivered water, living with all the others but we, are the untitled, we, are the un-entitled, and he is the Rivers <•>

For Harlon: The River Potion
Pencil or pen in the hand On the paper it shall land Every word a story will unfold Taking readers to legends untold Rhyming lines the secret potion Yes, poetry over motion Over and over letters collide Victory when poetry decides Every pen needs paper to confide Readily in heart a poem shall reside Movement of words across the page Only your thoughts taking center stage Trust in poetry to sing to your heart In all it's motions, it will soon start Opening doors to rhythmic places Now and then to different faces

Poetry over motion - acrostic poem
Me and you, doing what we do. Under the sheets; Keeping secrets, behind your back. looking at your interview, and I, love the view. You ****** me, I’m ******* you; now its back to you. lifting your skirt up, easy access for me and you. Getting deep; taking in all of me. Giving you multiple choices; take it in. me climb on top, you riding me. With, no surprise to me, you; end up, picking all three. Inside of you; Me covered with thee; sexually: hot and all juicy. Good Girl; Naughty thoughts, feeling filthy. Go a-head, blame it all on me. It’s building up, feel the intensity. Handling my business; by loving your company. It is what it is, because it’s meant to be. Love is everything, so you will be the death of me. Giving it to me so good, your antidote. Is like dope to me. Love potion, Seducing me. Sexually, spiritually, physically and mentally. Event filled nights; eventually. Lost in deep thoughts; hopefully You are, understanding me, while looking up at; I marvel at what I see. Your nectar, taste like honey from the finest be. Fruit, fit for a God; hand picked for me. My kingdom come, is one thing. But my Hung Dynasty; is something you have to see. My thunderbolt, will pardon your seas, as your waves of passion ride over me; I vibe with the motion of your ocean: blowing our minds. Your Ocean spray; splashed all over me. Giving her-a- cane, and made her purple rain: She giggled, because it was embarrassing.

So what? She'd rather not dance the night away? You're asking for less time than it took for the last guy to run away with her faith So give her some space Let love find it's own way take that energy and find someone who will handle with care Cause you're fragile too This whole relationship isn't your average pack up job, you can't put fragile with fragile and just shut the box Call me what you will, but I don't care for superficial friendships with people who want way too much more So take what you will, because she wants to want you this isn't something you can conjure from thin air Trust me if there was a potion she would drink it She want's to want you, and when it comes to this It's seriously 50-50 on who hurts the most don't pretend it isn't So realize what you're doing and curb your frustration She's having the same sensation So next time you want to play pity me and say you lost an opportunity Think about what you're saying She's lost something far worse Think of what you could be for her if you stayed as less than you thought you paid for Isn't that the kind of person YOU would fall in love with?

The "Friendzone" mystery debunked.
I am the catalyst of this cataclysm the catastrophe that impaled the atmosphere of this vagabond heart that is shaped like a sphere and an uncertain future being build out of fear that gets bypassed product of my cynicism.   Secluded in my lab concocting a potion for this illness and when all else fails call me the alchemist nothing more than an angst-ridden antagonist my apologies to the pessimist, my excuses to the optimist I was born to be a ********* with a heart made of silver.   Buried in my bunker trapped in someone else's lore which in turn makes me the catalyst of my own downfall I was baptized a Catholic without ever being asked turn me into a Cyclist and I'll pedal real far turn me into a Scientist and my lab coat will leave my side turn me into a labyrinth and you won't be able to find traces of me, of who I was or who I never came to be.

"The Catalyst"
Brewing a love potion is quite simple to do, a feather of a dove, and something from you. A dash of sweet sugar, and bubblegum chewed. Yes, making a love potion is quite simple to do. The voice of an angel must sing the spell and the holder of the heart shaped vial must never tell. You cannot acheive greatness without these  things, and without your potion you'll have knights - not kings.

In your eyes shines universe in the shape of your face. The stars whisper verses of unconditional love. Light of the moon emanates with your heart. Sun burns oath of immortality on my skin. Planets dance to the music of our souls. Even the black hole discovered the essence of love. Stardust wraps our bodies and souls. Meteorites juggle in space of desire to hit ecstasy of fated land. Interstellar space is filled with love of devotion. Electromagnetism guards intimacy of our bodies. Gravity is jealous about force of our feelings. Strong impact rising between us. Space-time continuum is richer in our kisses. All forms of matter and energy count light years of love head over heels. Our love was born in the Big Bang's peculiarity, existes since the dawn of time. Atoms formed union of our beings. Star agglomerated in galaxies of fascination and fulfillment. Supernova of our passion is new kind of cosmic explosion. The shock wave propagates even in the toes and feet. We transformed in pure energy. Expansion of our love accelerates. Existence has become a paradise on earth, cosmic catharsis. Love is bliss of *********** with you. Drink a love potion to the bottom of romanticism. You will raise where I am. In you I found the multiverse.

Cosmic love
Hymn to Aphrodite by Sappho (her only complete poem) loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Your chariot yoked to love's consecrated doves, their multitudinous pinions aflutter, you once came gliding from the utmost heights, to this dark earth. Whom should Persuasion summon here?" "Though today she flees love, soon she will pursue you; spurning love's gifts, she soon shall return them; tomorrow she will woo you, however unwillingly!" Come to me now, most Holy Aphrodite! I know of a world with magic in the air Flights of fantasy and the most enchanted sea I'll take you there Show you the forests of the fair All you have to do is follow me The oceans will take your breath away Mer scales glimmer as they shed in currents Dive down in the bay And mind the seaspray And you can catch one if you make sure to hurry Deep in caves, dragons meet our eye Guarding hoards of gold and jewels But they leave to fly Throughout their own wide open sky And that's when you disrupt their accrual Higher in mountains, gryphons make their lives Wingspans like whirlwinds: mighty and wide But diets on which they thrive Can't keep them forever alive So take a talon which'll never again glide Mer scale, talon and stolen gem I like these souvenirs so far And when I look at them Checking over again and again We can make a potion of stars But there are a few more ingredients We need to brew our magic I'm a potion genius And also a bit of a deviant Who cares if this gets a bit tragic?
