"midway" poems
Persephone runs amok, her hair caught on tendrils of wind, eyes lucid as emeralds; aware, alive. Hope is sketched on her face as if drawn by whoever paints the sunset, pulsating with the reflection of neon cities, rolling countryside, the adrenaline-pumping moment before a rollercoaster’s descent. She is high on happiness, running across her plane of existence with only her converse sneakers and extraordinary ambitions. Persephone knows she owes her unbridled youthfulness to Demeter. Demeter, who is stern but unconditionally loving, selfless, for when she hears her daughter’s plea for food she stops her spoon midway through a bite. When Persephone struggles with the perpetual torture of arithmetics, Demeter’s sheer intelligence is astonishing, the iridescent reflection of Persephone’s aspirations, for a problem to Demeter is merely a hidden solution, a failure only a victory in waiting. If only Demeter knew how her words are of the highest value, her pleased smile the only affirmation to a job well done. Her love cradled in the nook of Persephone memories, every moment she is infinitely grateful to co-exist, grateful for the Universe to award her the simple pleasure of loving her parent with purity and stripped of conditions. As Persephone runs, she glances back for a mere second, in her smile is the mirror of her naivety, she still believes that her Gods will save her from being a slave to the inevitable corruption on Earth and Olympus, for she is sure her untarnishable love for Demeter is her protector. Yet, you know how the story goes. In an instant, Persephone is falling into the Underworld, on the back of a beautiful monster into inescapable darkness. But even then, she holds on to Demeter in thought and in prayer. After adulthood, marriage, queenship, a childhood gone in a flash, after her hands become worn with calluses, her face a series of rivers, her mind expansive, her goals reached, Persephone knows she owes her unbridled youthfulness to the first person she ever loved. I love you Dad, Happy Father’s Day.

*Sometime you board the wrong train And you reach a destination, not in the itinerary Unfamiliar passenger, whom you thought you, knew But slowly, as the journey begins, you get lost In the language, you usually do not speak Unable to decipher, the inner feelings, you feel alien Sometimes the parallel tracks look familiar Maybe, they will lead you to your preferred destination You so wish for the parallel journey Willing to board the train on that track Wishing to talk to the driver, about your feelings If he could just bring the train to a halt The train coming to a jolting stop You may have to get off midway and board another train Your train of thoughts has led you to the train This will take you to the destination you have dreamt With the right passenger the journey will be a breeze* © Amitav (Radiance)

Train Journey
Midway upon the journey of life I found myself riding zigzag down dark streets, for there was no straight way through that teeming urban grid. Thus I travelled deeper into the night, while rosary beads swung hypnotic from the mirror, reflecting the revenant eyes of one raised by an invisible hand from salt water rocks where as a boy, he said, he should have died. Deftly navigating changing lights of amber, red, and green, he humbly inquired after my beliefs and the state of my soul. As to this I could not say, so I drew it out and held it gingerly by the rough edges, examining as best I might in that dim backseat its wrinkles, creases, and scars. In the reflection he saw all these clearly, and with gentle resonance spoke of things impossible to know, less difficult to believe, and blessed me so that on passing out the door I found my soul again soft and warm.

A cake I wont forget Bought you without regret Regretting not even my own breath Everyone's favorite, red velvet Mesmerized by your taste Eating you without haste Scrumptious in every aspect Why are you so perfect Every bite I make, happiness overflows But doubting, "why sadness follows?" Midway until the very last bite A love of my life notice you in sight As she walks towards you Grabs you and there's nothing I can do Oh red velvet, you're worth every dime Everyone's favorite, until next time

Red Velvet
The singing of phones cut midway The conversations that flow exactly after The unnoticed change from night to day The difference in context of everything that mattered Now there was... The silence of phones that used to ring nonstop The ringing of phones currently unanswered The mornings when it's impossible to get up The middays wherein silence is heard The nights when it's impossible to sleep The midnights when eyes won't even blink The day breaks that slowly creep The dawns that felt like the sun was going to sink The dusks wherein the rain poured The fading daylight which was warmly gazed upon The darkness of a nightfall which enveloped that unspoken word The gust of air that continues changing from here on The burning of letters that should have existed And The writing of letters that no longer exist

All at once the music stopped; The calliope stopped spinning. Atop the stallions we held hands Convinced that we were winning – For we were in the prime of life, We held the golden ring, Though the music stopped, we knew Forever we would sing. All at once the music stopped; The Ferris wheel stopped turning. Atop the city looking down, We saw that lights were burning – For we were in the evening and, Our lives had passed midway, And when the music stopped we knew That we had had our day. All at once the music stopped; The carnival had ended. And we held each other tightly, As if our lives could be suspended – For without the music and the lights, Past and Present blended, Our future was but memories That we had resurrected. All at once the music stopped; The night was deathly still. Alone, and scared I trembled, Without a prayer, without a will– For my life had been a carnival, With my lover at my side, But all alone, without my lover I knew that I had also died. The Carnival
A powerful euphoric sensation rushes to my brain when I inhale the crack ******* leaving me appalled for twenty one seconds to contemplate a super rush of dopamine into my central nervous system that hits me immediately an intense pleasant sensation is felt with a overly joyful feeling. The rush lasts about 2-5 minutes then slowly begins to come down I start to feel a slight paranoia then an uncomfortable feeling sets in midway to the euphoric high and after 10 minute mark I start to crave to repeat the powerful high. Like a thunderbolt energizing my whole body and rushing thoughts come crashing down at the 15 minute mark I begin to feel unsatisfied with myself wanting to repeat the vicious cycle all over again. Once I hit 20 minutes I feel like a cheap ***** who's been used and abused by the drug itself and this feeling of restlessness and dysphoria sets in leaving me once again alone and feeling slightly discontent. **** where can I get more hard again and there I once again start talking to myself creating fictitious illments and materializing maladies. That is chasing the Great White Dragon in a state of misery and despair. I was hooked but now am healed thru the 12 steps and the Grace of Almighty God. I am now 40 days clean and sober...I am sincere and certain not to pick up this again for if I do I'll will ruin my life or better yet put me in a casket. By the Grace of Adonai I praise thee for saving this wretched addict. Now and forevermore in debt with the Lord. Amen!

*The woodpecker wouldn't reveal,           the secret kept closer to her chest, but the telegraphic messages           meant nothing else I gather it thus: "Don't you give up midway            slog, till you are fully satisfied, that you've reached there         where, what you are searching is found" In wooden notes, she proclaimed thus,           goes on pecking making, the noise louder and louder,          it's now more and more clear- that in standards she'd never compromise,         never would she lower her esteem even if her sense of urgency sometimes               creates some discordant notes        that she accepts as her fault and keeps her ears perked up for tone and tenor.*

Im not a poet, Im just a depressed teenger. Ill run around the circuit Until my sweat becomes my armor. Dont expect much from me, Im just a socially awkward wreck The worst card in the deck Only be remembered as a speck My ideas are so cliché That theyve become irrelevant I always give up midway And leave myself less confident But until I find my purpose, Im just a depressed teenager, A voiceless individual, A worthless entity.

delicate and limp they lie between the spaces amongst hard print on factual papers; occasionally unrealistic figments of self deluding fantasy. “they’re luxuries”, you mumbled, a lament towards their rare materialization in your few hours of slumber; the soft impression leading souls up the garden path, misleading for they were not all that pleasant. midway after sunset your heavy breathing is the silence i hear; your silhouette limp against the amber lights. they came once again, desperation had come once again. you squinted into the distant darkness, “oddities veiled by a coat of blur, though a fantasy felt as tangible as the touch of skin; i’d fall endlessly down the pit. most of all, pathetically i had no one to catch me.”

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. So twice five miles of fertile ground With walls and towers were girdled round: And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills, Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery. But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover! A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing, A mighty fountain momently was forced: Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail, Or chaffy grain beneath the thresher’s flail: And ’mid these dancing rocks at once and ever It flung up momently the sacred river. Five miles meandering with a mazy motion Through wood and dale the sacred river ran, Then reached the caverns measureless to man, And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean: And ’mid this tumult Kubla heard from far Ancestral voices prophesying war! The shadow of the dome of pleasure Floated midway on the waves; Where was heard the mingled measure From the fountain and the caves. It was a miracle of rare device, A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice! A damsel with a dulcimer In a vision once I saw: It was an Abyssinian maid, And on her dulcimer she played, Singing of Mount Abora. Could I revive within me Her symphony and song, To such a deep delight ’twould win me That with music loud and long I would build that dome in air, That sunny dome! those caves of ice! And all who heard should see them there, And all should cry, Beware! Beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair! Weave a circle round him thrice, And close your eyes with holy dread, For he on honey-dew hath fed And drunk the milk of Paradise.

God’s Glorious Telephone We Really Need To Use By D.K. Milgrim-Heath©2010 Wonder about God’s communication with everyone? We need to be open for his will to be done. God's glorious telephone we really need to use- He’s always connected to us please don’t refuse. Learning about God’s completely glorious telephone – It works forever we know we’re not alone. Calling Heaven’s at anytime’s a good time to call- It’s been free always to me, one and all. Feeling those holy currents always on His line- Keeps me knowing God’s so pure and divine. Sometimes evil stops our holy calls in midway- Realize God’s importance to us - get evil to leave us alone and go away. This holy line's built lovingly only by God alone- For His beloved children that He makes quite His own. We talk to God heavily through His heavenly device- Taking our time with Him accessible that’s really nice. No service operators obstructions of any kind to direct- God answers our calls somehow this we can expect. Holy lines cross or grounded- so what should we do? Praying faithfully more with promise is needed by you. Notice bad weather or trials won't disconnect His line- God has His words get through to us mighty fine! Knowing as we got through our internal spirits rise- His communication helps us become pious and wise.

God’s Glorious Telephone We Really Need To Use
Homecoming body: A grey cardigan strips down, bonding skin to night’s air, penetrating Chevrolet safe havens drowned in lover’s spit. My Mind thanks Google, enabling electronic bibles to leave disciples stifled with religious quotas, an excuse to quote us — “Trouble at the Border, read the former court room reporter working for the, sensationalized, through remnants of blood stains in our eyes.” Midway through Chapter 1 — reeks not only of of *** in the backseat — but of Venezuela’s shorelines. Of her high school hallways. Of the intrigue of the unexplored Mexican neighbor, her freedom amidst constraint, where Visas lease us advertising campaigns for maquiladora made lampshades. Despite their protest, common sense lent comparisons, a consequence of stories told in reverse. They hover over Venezuela’s familiar curves, her long black hair straddling my shoulders.

The gushing river through his interior landscape, runs very deep, this surging Ganga, glaciers feed, is one of Himalayan profligacy. Wouldn't stop, or deter a bit,on any eventuality; a mighty force it is. his beloved sea, was moved by this, swelled up to meet midway, merge.

Surge and seek; reach and merge
The weighted press of measured steps on stair accompanied by an echoed call to the familiar. The first syllable of her name severed  midway, yet it tolled long after the utterance rang out. The comfort of routine; tethers of association snapped under the strain of realisation. A mocking gift from forgetfulness... ...she left him.. Mechanical body shifts fighting urges to hesitate and listen to her vanished sleeping breath. Vacant the cold bedroom, the chamber harbouring her scent on fabrics, pillow and scantly furnished dresser top. Each sniff raw as salt on opened wounds. She left and left him only remorseful residues from the harvest of three years and five months.

I'm dead, I have already committed suicide, No you can see me, You can feel me, You can read me, But you can't find even a single reason to call me alive, No I haven't got cut on my hand, & haven't ever tried to hang, But I have got my heart bleed, I have got it broken, I couldn't actually die, & sorry I'm unable to keep myself alive, Not my fault, cause I'm the one never loved, never cared, never caressed, never being consoled, never being hold... So here is a midway, So here is a dead me, With a human body, Healthy & fit A ***** kit!!! What if I can't cut my lifeline, I have already cut my connections with life & now I think it's all fine...

Charlie was a leprechaun, midway born into a family of thirteen the scourge of catholic school daring to shout ‘Thank God’ when the mass was ended smoking cigarettes for their illicit thrill, found himself a summer job cleaning up the trash at the town park, found himself in the background of a photo of the young cleanup crew on the cover of the community newspaper he was flipping off the photographer. his mom made him wear an ace bandage that covered his hand but for his middle finger for two weeks his laughter was un-controllable

To write a sonnet doth Juana press me, I've never found me in such stress or pain; A sonnet numbers fourteen lines, 'tis plain, And three are gone, ere I can say, God bless me! I thought that spinning rhymes might sore oppress me, Yet here I'm midway in the last quatrain; And if the foremost tercet I can gain, The quatrains need not any more distress me. To the first tercet I have got at last, And travel through it with such right good will, That with this line I've finished it, I ween; I'm in the second now, and see how fast The thirteenth line runs tripping from my quill; Hurrah, 'tis done! Count if there be fourteen!
