The house is cold.
The house dark and lonely.

The hum of the dishwasher,
The thump of the dryer.

Her bare feet scamper across the tile floor.
She pulls on her favorite hoodie,
Caccoons herself in blankets,
And sleeps a long,
Dreamless sleep.
