Words Echo Nov 2010
Two beautiful babies laugh and they play.
Two beautiful babies sleeping away.
Two beautiful babies smile and crawl.
Two beautiful babies with no cares at all.

Now two beautiful children cry and they pout.
Now two beautiful children fight and they shout.
Now two beautiful children grow and they grow.
Now two beautiful children who you’ll never know.

Two beautiful people with dreams and with goals.
Two beautiful people with two beautiful souls.
Two beautiful people who you missed growing tall.
Two beautiful people who never loved you at all.

I step onto the stage
Like Juliet, like Ophelia, like Desdamona,
But I'm smothered.
Why'd I step out? What is out here for me?
Could this be a tragedy turned comedy?
I can only hope,
Because I'll never know.
I'll never know why or when or what.
And if I never know and if it never turns
Then the three ladies' fate will be mine.

You scrunch your brow, you're angry -
A fire lights inside.
A jarring sound - you're tensing up
I see it in your eyes.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
I'm a little struck with fear.
Though sometimes I can't help but giggle
And hope that you don't hear.

Adorable despite your mood -
A blessing or a curse?
Thank the heavens, thank the stars,
Thank God I found you first.

What if they knew?
What if they knew my lips had traveled your body,
Taking your mind to new places?
What if they knew?
What if they knew I cradled you in my arms
When fever ravished your skin?
What if they knew?
What if they knew I listen to your whispers
In the darkest hours of the night?
What if they knew?
What if they knew that you love me?
What if it could change the world?
Words Echo Nov 2010
it's just a touch.
her hand on mine,
her lips on mine.
just a touch
to spin the world
the other direction.
a simple momentary
exchange between two
bodies in silence,
in laughter, in tears.
just a touch.
her touch is enough
for a lifetime.
