I'm tired, a robot all tensed,
A facade of strength, a heart fenced.
Trying to mimic their perfect stride,
Though a million doubts reside.
They scoff if I stumble, a tear may fall,
So I hold it in, build a towering wall
. No laughter rings true, a hollow display
, Hiding the storm clouds that dim my day.
The fleeting joy, a wisp of smoke
, Lost in the tears I silently choke.
My smile, a tightrope I desperately walk
, But the beauty I see, in these fractured walls I stalk.
There's no "me" in the mirror's cold stare,
Just echoes of them, their voices, their glare
. Euphoria's whispers vanish too fast,
My forced, giddy laugh, a shield built to last.
"Scatterbrained," they say, a clumsy disguise,
To mask the real me, with sorrow in my eyes.
Naive and awkward, a yearning to fly,
To break free from this cage, and touch the vast sky.
Fear holds me captive, a weight on my chest,
My reflection a stranger, putting my dreams to the test.
Theirs, the effortless grace, mine, a constant defeat,
My trembling steps, a rhythm incomplete.
Imperfection's grip, a relentless hold,
But a sliver of hope, a story untold.
Maybe the strength I crave isn't out there,
But within, waiting to mend and repair.
The clouds may hold silver, a chance to arise,
To face the reflection, with truth in my eyes.
Not to be "more," not to mimic their ways,
But to blossom as me, through the sunlit haze.
Selfishness whispers, a newfound decree,
Their thoughts are mere echoes, that no longer bind me.
This is my journey, a path I must pave
, Embrace the broken, and rise from the grave.
One fragile step at a time, I will see,
The strength in my spirit, the beauty in me.
