Drunk on the lies
    we dreamed
yet sleeping still
Virlyn Jul 2018
You are the star
in my sky
Shining brighter as
you soar through
my atmosphere.

A beauty for others only to wish for.
Any title suggestions?

You are my sunset
My sunrise
The star in my universe
Painting my atmosphere
with vivid breath

I'm starting to believe
the ocean is much like you.
How the ocean takes yet
never hesitant to return.
Disproving blue means sad
when it gives back light
to the sky
Offering better ways of perspective.
How flowing through life comes natural
When you're born to shape the Earth.
You are ever-changing,
Yet ever consistent
and I believe
the water is much
like you.

I'm pulling my hair
out of my head
so I don't pull my heart out instead.

And like the shore relentlessly
pacing back and forth
I'm kicking myself
Being careless
with what I wish for.

Waiting
for my sunrise to unfold,
my eyes cry out
from these breaths I hold.
Using what might be my last

I kneel to scoop these shards
gently,
Still, pressing
them into your palms.

Pull my hair
Like you pull my heart
out of my chest.

Kiss me
until my walls crumble
Like the ocean relentlessly
caresses the shore.

Make me breathless.
Remind my lungs
how much they love
The taste of air.

Break my heart
in a way
I will scoop the shards
and still press them in your palms.

Love me
uncensored and recklessly.
Show me
we were made to love.

tree leaves
to strum
Sun beams
'cross the skin
of whomever
found comfort in the
