For Alaska I Long.
As the musical magic flows into my ears, I fall in love.
The high pitched songs from birds near and far,
as their harmonies and melodies flow over the land.
The majestic blue waves crashing into the shore,
as they sound like thunder in the distance.
The swishing and sloshing of the creek nearby,
like the steady flow of water running in the sink.
A faint rustling from the tall blades of grass
as the wind hits them so delicately, so softly.
And if you listen close enough you hear scampering all around,
of little ground squirrels rushing this way and that.
As the night starts to fall
with the moon fighting the brilliant Midnight Sun.
You hear the cracking of sticks in a well lit fire,
with chattering and laughing till they were no more.
Now the only music is that of the rhythms of snores.
One after the other like when a lion roars.
I love this place and the distinct music it plays,
for the melodies of the land are deep in my heart.
From the crashing and thundering of Kachemak Bay
to the swishing and sloshing of the relaxing stream nearby.
From the scampering of wildlife and laughing of people.
This place plays a song, for Alaska I long.

Forgotten.
I have forgotten you.
The smell of the fresh, brisk, mornings.
The feelings when I saw your beauty.
I have forgotten the love, the hope.
Two years have past and I still miss you so.
Even though the feelings are gone I will never forget you.
Your magic as it grasped my heart.
Your freeness as it helped me live.
I miss the way you brought me joy, the way you made me smile.
I hope to soon meet you again.
So I can once more,
make these forgotten memories, reality.

I See God Calling.
I see God calling, the multiple signs I see,
Those of nature, all appearing with a surreal vision,
The mountains spanning for miles at end,
The sun beaming as it lights the sky, or brightens the day,
The children smiling as they laugh and play, the parents standing proud to the side,
The animals roaming as spring arrives, the birds flying high in the skies,
The babies smile, the kids laughter in the air, or of the teenagers praising or worshipping,
Each a view of what shows Him through His grace,
The scenes of the Lord - the images of His presence, being, love,
Showing Himself through the true beauty of the world.
