Oh darling, don't ever say you're ugly
Every time I look at you, you're always so lovely

So lovely that I can't even put it into words
I live in the city
Where its hard to see the stars
City lights are always so harsh

To see a star in the city is rare
As the city has its own stars
We have no need to look up much

From my spot on the busy sidewalk
The star looked so quiet, so sincere
So unlike the human who gazed at the star

The city continued to move
As one of its people, slowed down
And looked up into the night sky

But alas, a city is always moving
And as I marveled in the beauty of the lone star
Bright against the harshness of the city lights

I walked into a pole
Each snowflake is unique
Similar to that of humans

We don't bother looking at every snowflake to see
But when we see one which catches our eye
We notice it

Humans are different
Some are similar, but still so different
We don't look at every person to know

But when there is that one special snowflake
One that stands out from the rest
We notice it

And everything else looks the same

But we know
Like snowflakes
We are unique

Similar
But still so different

And a hassle to deal with when there is too much
I do love poetry
I really do

I just don't know what to say
Or what to write

It feels weak compared to the rest
I want to get better

It's either that
Or I'm just being too expectant of myself

But
I do
I really do
Love poetry

(You thought it was gonna be a vow did you?)
Some things are very simple
So simple that it's hard to believe

Like basically

If you press a knife into your skin
It will hurt.
If you say that the pain has gone away
Why does it still hurt everyday?
It's not tall anymore
Not growing but still alive

And if you leave it there long enough
It's starts to grow again
