From the midnight air
she did first appear,
a life saving vision.

Amidst my despair:
A sliver of light
in the black and crimson night.
ulflyr69 Aug 2016
I have fallen from the lofty heights
of fantasy and imagination.
Down thru clouds of memory,
and crashed to the floor
of the valley
of failure and disappointment.
M. if you read this. please comment so I know you are still out there

I hear you smile, though you do not
speak.
It's the laughter in your eyes
I really seek.

Strange that two shall join together
and be as one,
yet never really touch,
when to another, a smile means so much.

Fantasy is sweet,
but would we dare?
And those whose lives
we share?

They do not understand
our true desire.
They give us only warmth,
when we need a fire.

In the south facing sunlit room,
She sat looking out upon
the sweetfern valley.

The words flowed freely
form her heart through the pen
onto the parchment page.

In the stable
the handsome gray stallion whinnied,
calling her name.
Later, she murmured softly, with a loving smile.

Your arrow is now lodgded
deep within my heart.
A fearful wound
from your fantasy dart.
Oh, The incredible pangs I feel!
And if dreams come true,
it will never heal!

If you can't stop the river,
ride the rapids 'til the water recedes.
After the flood
the crops will flourish.

If, when you least expect it..
you are launched into orbit..
ride the rocket until the crash.

I want to see
your sweet face
in the soft
gray light of dawn.
To touch your cheek
and caress the curve
of your full breast.
To watch you
stretch and yawn
and look up at me
with your
sleepy bedroom eyes.
to see your smile;
hear your contented sighs.

I want to reveal
what I am really like.
I don't want to hide
what I am feeling inside.

But it's hard to know
just what to say.
So much love to give
and life to live.

What I offer you,
please don't push away.
Anything you take form me
is yours for free.

You are my friend today,
my friend forever.
You already own
part of my heart.

You don't owe me anything,
and you never will.
The choices, yours to take,
the deisions, yours to make.

Do you think you know
which way to go?
If you were free
would you go with me?

I always felt you cared
about the times we shared.
I thought I was cool,
but really, such a fool!

If in fear we wait
we may find it's too late.
Let's take the chance
while we still can dance.

From her bowstring
the arrow loosed,
flying from her sight
far into the sky.

I was here,
standing in the shining sun
when her dart
dived deeply into my heart.

Silver black explosion
and deep red introspection
brought on by blinding orange.

Shading myself intentionally,
to be exposed to the nightness'
exquisite purple pyre.

She's come and gone on
however the colors go by;
divine glimpses of violet fury

In dark blue sadness
and opal melancholy
pass endless lightless days.

The shadowed past, forever dark
precludes the waking dawn.
Deadly near, a desire to pass on.

From behind my bars,
I sometimes still see the stars.
But the key-
that hangs within my reach-
hides from view the sandy beach.

She saw the anticipation in his eyes
as she led gray horse from the stable.
No reins or saddle today she thought,
and stepped from the fence
to straddle his bare back.

Her hands wrapped in his silky mane,
her thighs pressed against him,
they rode smoothly through trees,
enjoying the earthy smell of the forest floor.

They climbed toward the mountain meadow,
while she matched the stallion's rythm,
moving with him, feeling his strength,
tightening her grip as his stride lengthened.
Almost there she thought, just a little farther.

Suddenly they were over the ridge,
and galloping into the pungent meadow
filled with the blossoms of wild flowers,
and the lush green grass of summer,
and into an explosion of scents and sunlight.

If I wrote a song for you, just what
would you do?
Think of me and smile, or just
humor me awhile?

If I sang of love and used your name
would you talk to me again?
Or frown and look away in pain

I know of all your fears,
but I've seen no tears, and
though you've had it rough,
you're good at acting tough.

Just how deep inside do you hide?
You let no one in and nothing out.
Could you share your pain
with someone you care about?

If I ask where you want to go
do you think you will know?
If I ask where you've been , do you think
you will tell me then?

Childhood dreams turn to dust,
and spirits die without trust.
It's so hard when none can see
the person you need to be.

If you let it all go, then you'll know
you have a life to live,
and then you'll know
you have a love to give.

If the time between us is not too long,
reach for me, show me who you are.
Gently, your soul and mine
shall intertwine.

If I wrote a song for you,
just what would you do?
Would you think of me and smile?
Or just humor me awhile?

On an early summer day
I brought wine and wild flowers
to your sun washed kitchen.

You turned and smiled your
"love you so..." smile and
pressed a fresh strawberry
to my lips!

Then you kissed me and
we shared the sweet taste.
M... I always see your sweet face in my mind when I am writing poetry.
ulflyr69 Feb 2013
If you came to me,
naked and unprotected,
I would look into your eyes,
while I kissed
your parted lips.

Keep it brief, (the poem),
your advice to me.

And it's always for love, (your life),
and your writing must be.

But it's about you, (verse two),
I'm sure you can see.

Yes, I live there too, (love and lust),
our passions meant to be.

But you say it so well, (joy, or sorrow),
open and honest, your poetry.

If my words would say it, (better),
I could make you love me, as I do you,
breathlessly....
It's been a while, and it's a little tacky and somewhat lacking (read: limited ability), but I needed to write something for my friend.

In my dark despair
I reached out for you
and you were there.
You dried my tears,
calmed my fears,
and assured me, "I'm still here."
