Lynn Stillman Jun 23
Daylight never waits
Why am I cooped up inside?
Phones ringtone on mute.
Lynn Stillman Jun 18
Words won't reach the shore
"I love yous" kept in a chest
Claimed by ocean depths.
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
Loves not a gadget
Or a novelty item
It is tried and true.
We have hit a slump
Same words in repetition
A form letter love.
I don't know your name
Introductions unneeded
Look of love we seek
Lynn Stillman Jun 30
Don't need to be loved
I tell myself that each day
Yet, loved anyway.
Lynn Stillman Jun 15
How then , does love end
When like acid their words burn ,
right through to your soul.
Lynn Stillman Jun 25
When love turned spiteful
When questions had no answers
and we fell to earth.
Lynn Stillman Jun 23
Love was nearing the rocks
It had set sail years ago
Map old and yellowed
Devotion waited ashore
As storms of distrust moved in.
He was much older.
I was grossly immature.
A father to me.
We got married on the sixth.
Annulment on the seventh.
I'm no math genius.
But I sure have your number.
You're not hard to peg.
Maybe when we're old
We'll treasure our memories
Like silver and gold.
If you had millions
Would your words have more value?
Would they change more minds?
Lynn Stillman Jun 25
No sleep comes tonight
My mind toils till mornings light
Without my consent
Lynn Stillman Jun 29
Pen needs warming up
Write whatever comes to mind
Like a morning stretch.
I wish you were mine
To someone else you belong
I'll still sing your song.
Lynn Stillman Jun 27
My mirror image
Ready for the red carpet?
Truth glares back at me.
Feel a sense of dread
While walking to the mirror
Maybe I'll sneak up.
Lynn Stillman Jun 30
They say it's human
To slip up and make mistakes
It's my career!
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
I could write something,
about misunderstanding
You wouldn't get it
I misunderstood
I thought saying I love you,
came without a price.
Lynn Stillman Jun 29
The cat and the bird
Mockingbird dive bombs the cat
Flurry of feathers.
Lynn Stillman Jun 17
Often tell myself
If I had millions to spend
Couldn't buy me time.
Lynn Stillman Jun 23
Money's like making bread
You're either rolling in it
Or you really knead it.
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
Poetry is moods
A sampling of everything
Tasting of good foods
Lynn Stillman Jun 21
Tossed in my sleep
Morning feels like Monday blues
Gagged on black coffee.
Lynn Stillman Jun 27
Pretty mosaic
Each piece represents a dream
Future's bright picture
Music is the cure
For whatever may ail you
Rhythm in pill form
Lynn Stillman Jun 29
You took my best side
Left me with this angry scar
My worst side exposed.
Lynn Stillman Jun 19
My cat knows his name
He chooses not to respond
God I envy him.
I am sixty one
I've had my day in the sun
From time I won't run.
Alone I set out
The path unpaved, dips and curves
The horizon lost
Lynn Stillman Jun 23
"Uh oh" all you said
when my life became a mess.
"Walk it off" you say
Lynn Stillman Jun 17
Retracing my steps
My path not yet really clear
Steps forward I fear
You're not what I see
Dark and sordid history
Just a mystery
I'm losing my voice
My song can't break barriers
Not without the choir
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
It's star light, star bright
First star I see tonight dims
So much for the rhyme
You get on my nerves
You are like the whistling wind
Underneath my door
Lynn Stillman Jun 22
I'd never hurt you
Can you please believe my words
They're all I can give.
In nightmares I've seen,
things that make a demon wince,
praying for mercy.
Dreams can be a nightmare
When at night you go to sleep
They can haunt you in the daytime too
Pray your soul to keep
But take them for what they are
The psyche branching out
Night terrors can occur as well
They make you scream and shout
There's nothing in the darkness
That's not present in the light
Remember that and don't you fear
Spirits tuck you in tonight.

.
Nights can be my enemy
I don't sleep that well
A curse with little benefit
It can be a living hell
My mind it won't take a rest
Always poking me awake
Would not think that possible
With all the pills I take.
Some actually for sleep
All legal and prescribed
Some for other maladies,
I have not described
The real cure is tried and true
And legal in my state
Yet not in my facility
The rules they can dictate.
I guess you know the cure I mean
I've given you a clue
The munchies are a part of it
But that is nothing new.
Lynn Stillman Jun 27
I speak gibberish
It is my second language
Nonsense is my first
Lynn Stillman Jun 30
I don't like to preach
It puts others out of reach
I can only teach.
Lynn Stillman Jun 17
Think about someone
That you're like a stranger to
Then you've thought of me
Lynn Stillman Jun 24
To not feel useful
It's a fact of life for some.
Old and in the way.
Life and laughter for the young.
Singing the songs left unsung.
Lynn Stillman Jun 22
Why is the sky blue?
Why not, gods into pastels
If you're wondering
why the chicken crossed the road
Ask Col. Sanders fry cook.
Lynn Stillman Jun 26
**** them with kindness
When they treating you like s**t
What a load of crap
I still remember.
The sadnesses in old songs.
Still tug my heart strings.
I wish you the best
As you set out on your own
The world calls to you
How much you have grown
There may be some days
When you feel you need me
I'll still be around
To your troubles I'll see
I've always known
You were going places
From saving your pennies
To tying your shoelaces
Now you're an adult
But to me you'll always be
The inquisitive child
A reflection of me.
