You were my first crush.
My first kiss was with you.
We took walks hand in hand.
Our future looked shiny and new.
We dreamed of two kids and a house.
White picket fence and a swing.
Our love was written in stone.
And you gave me a ring.
Our wedding in a little white church.
With a preacher and guests.
We honeymooned in Hawaii.
Our love passed all the tests.
But after the kids were grown.
You became distant and cold.
An affair you were having.
Her name I was never told.
Soon we were living apart.
I learned to live all alone.
We lost touch after that.
No talks on the phone.
Now here I am in my eighties.
You have since passed.
I thought we'd have forever.
I thought our love would last.

Can you come out and play.
Or do you have plans today.
I'm only asking for a friend.
Best wishes she does send.
She watches you work outside.
While you're pimping your new ride.
Wishing you'd call her on the phone.
Or are you happy all alone.
She'd love to take in a show.
Taking things so easy and slow.
Then she'd kiss you goodnight.
In her dreams you hold her tight.
Her dreams are all she knows.
As far as this love goes.
But she will wait around for you.
Until the time is due.

You can't sing or dance.
But you can use just your eyes,
put me in a trance.

Every day there's death.
It does not discriminate.
Your money, worthless.

My soul is screaming.
On this train that's bound for hell.
I'm far from my home.
From God's grace from which I fell.
Laughing, Satan rings the bell.

Harmed myself with pills.
When this life became too much.
Now I just use words.

In a split second
You've lost everything you love,
question God above
