I see a shifting pen
Writing the tears of dead men
And I sit and ask
Will I come home and when
Oh look its way past ten
Don't look at the moon anymore
No longer does it glisten
Don't scold yourself anymore
It ain't like you will listen

So just give up then?
But I couldn't if I wanted to
Stuck between die and do
Dread starting to brew
Oh
You never touched the pen
You never read the words
Could've seen a sky
Maybe it would've shone
Could've been high and fly
Maybe then I could atone
But I lay alone
On a solitary stone
Within my own cone
Living life on a loan
How did it take upon such a grim tone

A crimson red plasma
Neither firm
Neither unstable
Flowing through the air like a fable
Devour me dear delicious
My fate has been oh so vicious
Pessimism borderline superstitious
Dripping from the evermore
Sorrow hits another score
A woeful addition to my lore
A slowly faltering core
My soul grows ever sore
Oh dear please open the door
Let it shine on the tainted floor
More more just a little more

an apple of disgrace
I take pleasure to devour
to reach the lowest place
I run as if it's a race
I watch you leave me behind
glaring at what could've been
it can't escape my mind
all the things I could've seen
and I wonder
has my fate left me asunder
dreading the future's thunder
resenting my thoughtless blunder
would you come to me again
can we dissect the stars together
will you come to share my pain
can we bind ourselves with a tether
and witness
the fall of wonder
the drowning of colour
and witness
my thoughts of praise
and maybe a future of valour
so come to me and set yourself free
come to me let's reignite our glee
come and watch the sun from under a tree
let me kiss you and go on a shopping spree
who would you rather be with other than me?
and you wonder
could the world ever look the same
and you ponder
maybe you were the one to blame
but does it matter?
the end is all the same
the dimming of our flame
