Wildfire
Robert Apr 4
The fire is burning wildly,
But the wild is unaware,
What used to haunt the hunter,
Now hunts the hare.

Moles deep in their holes,
Hoping it will pass,
But alas, it searches, pokes and prods,
Its burns deeper than grass.

Hoping for an escape,
To a river, to a lake,
Run, shreik, scramble dig,
This fire isn't fake.
This pertains to a specific local fire in 2016. It's personal but shared.

Intricate mess
Robert Apr 4
Intimidation across the nation,
High tension,
But don't mention,
Boats and woes of the misunderstood,
Angst and throes of the disheartened,
Of how we live, or where they reside,
Both sides against the same tide,
Against the will of the proportion,
Drunken fools without rules,
Pretending to defend the crown jewels,
Broken folk not from round these parts,
Struck by a brick cast by the thick,
Not sure who they're tying to scare,
Both sides said a prayer,
Don't leave it there,
We're all immigrants who came from somewhere,
It's not West side story,
Nor morning glory.

Natural rotation
Robert Apr 4
A drop of rain lands upon your face,
And you worry if you sweat,
A drop on mine,
Feels like a monsoon,
I know it's not,
Show me where the sunshine is,
For it must surely be,
I'm sat here wondering,
But there's a thousand me's,
Looking down,
Same old ground,
Wondering where we'll never be found,
The sea is slowly taking over the earth,
Girth gaining as it scratches,
Etches away greedily,
Painting it's own picture as art once did,
A blank canvas for nature again,
Replacing all that was,
With all which will be,
Again.

Seasonal interuption
Robert Apr 4
As the warmth disturbs the spring air,
Summer texts and says "I'll meet you there",
A reply..."Let's drink, dance, and cheer,
Before my charms disappear".

The clock tocks the small hand forward,
Taking Spring by surprise,
"An hour?" Spring says, "come Autumn, you'll see your own demise"

Autumn chimes in..."Can you two keep it down please?...Winter is trying to sleep"
...but Winter sleeps deep.
