Walking the aisle,
we became shadows of each other —
You in the hues of dawn,
And I in the shades of night.
In this last journey together,
I wish for nothing
but to be the last one
to send you off with a kiss.

"Hold back," they said—
But what should I hold in?
The pain that drowns me,
or the guilt that withers my soul?

"Wait," they said—
But until when?
Until my heart freezes to death,
or my breath fades into silence?

What should I do with these scars,
deepened by all the what-ifs of the past?
How can I give words to this grief,
when I choke on the same?"

And all the smiles plastered on my face,
one day will fail to defend my tears,
hiding beneath the facade,
that the world made me build.

The 'Me' I lost
wanders in despair,
in this maze of lies,
like a child lost in the mob.

Love, like a lotus, blooms where it's least expected—
rooted in dirt, yet rising, unshaken.
Its tender petals blush a gentle pink,
still shining,
though its roots are caged in mud.
He crossed the waters,
his feet wading through the mud,
scarred by stones hidden beneath.
All for a glimpse of his beloved—
standing with a lotus in her hand,
her beauty outshining its blushing petals.

Like fire, you pulled me closer,
as your flames consumed my wings.
Forever you said, the words born only for a moment.
Forever I heard, a promise for eternity.
As time creeps in,
slowly stealing the best in me,
I kept you closer....
As I withered into dust.

I never knew love could be this beautiful—
So beautiful, you smile even when it hurts.
So beautiful, you hold on, knowing all that’s left are thorns.
So beautiful, you walk right through it,
Knowing exactly how it will burn.

Like a flicker in darkness,
lighting my soul.
Filling the emptiness,
like air in hollows.
The dissonance,
breaking an eternal silence.
My sole consort,
traversing distances to find me back.

And it traced my steps,
one step behind,
dancing with my curves.
It stood  same among the thorns and flowers, never leaving.
Brave and strong against all odds,
yet it hid when it was dark.
I hated it once but now I keep the light burning,
so that it never fades into the dark again.

The love like a sea we had ,
it's waves crashing on my lonely shore,
erasing all my pain.

I tried to hold you beside me,
Like a fool trying to steal the waves.

Each time you left
I waited between your absence,
as leaves changed colours and born again, slowly drowning in your hues.
