To be the black sheep of the family —
what a terrible thing to be.

All the neighbors and relatives
heap praise on my super-successful siblings
and hurl insults at me
at the first chance they get.

I know all too well –
it is their jealousy of my siblings' success
that they take it out on me.

If success is measured by
money and fame,
I am not going to take that bait –
I am happy as I am.

Insult me all you can,
I can take it all in.
For you can only give
what you have,
and for that reason
I forgive you.

I remain the black sheep
of my family–
by choice,
at peace and forever free.
Our meeting was nothing short of an accident.
We developed a friendship, out of nowhere.
The time we shared together was filled with adventure.

Then we reached that point in the road where we had to go our separate ways.
So we parted ways with heavy hearts,
Though physically separated,
we were always in each other's thoughts.

Now that the journey of life is about to end
I stopped, thinking what life would have looked like, had we made the journey together.

As I look back
searching for him
to see him one last time
to bid him the final goodbye.

I heard thunder
It woke me up
There he was
Standing next to me,
looking at me, smiling.

Now I know what life would look like
without him in it.
It feels like a second chance
A chance to change the course of my life.

But I am still in a dilemma –
which road to choose.
When the world

turns against you,

who do you

turn to?
Those who know

the art of giving

are the ones

who know the

true meaning of living.
Miles of sand,
scattered seashells,
a few starfish lying around,
I think I saw a white pearl too.

The beautiful blue ocean,
in front of my eyes,
touching the blue sky on the horizon.

Waves touch my feet,
carrying away some sand beneath.
A ship sailing in the distance,
a gentle breeze blowing,
as if playing with my hair.

Time flew by.
As the sun begins to set
the sky turns into a canvas
showcasing a myriad of colours.

A crescent moon appears,
with a twinkling star by its side.

It was my time to say goodbye —
after a well-spent time, not wasted.
I always thought
I meant something to you
A burden.
Now I know.
