HERITAGE
Dorothy Feb 8
Pitter, patter; ignore the chatter -
in the underground basement
of my mother's womb.
Caring and sharing for the choices
of my adopted family -
who seem to fly in the face of adversity,
like sparrows,
tumbling in the wind.

DISCOVERY
Dorothy Feb 8
A beneficial leap
into the unknown,
is the cause of my demise.
I leave no stone unturned
due to my curiosity -
however, it breaks me,
along the way;
until time itself welcomes me home.

EVE
Dorothy Jan 26
EVE
Underneath my fingernail,
there is a flower.
Beneath the leaves
of the tree of life,
there is light.
Take me to where
knowledge does not exist;
So that my face
can always say: -
Ignorance is bliss.

ZION
Dorothy Jan 26
He has olive skin like a spaniard.
His chestnut coloured hair
shines like the sun.
His happy, go lucky, demeanour
glows in his smile;
Just like magic.
He broke my heart once: -
but all is forgiven,
as he has made it up to me now
by never leaving my side.
