I stand here translucent
Shine through me sunlight
Finish my portrait, colour my grays
Until no shadows remain

Tiny gods mumur profanities
Docile hands, obtuse in their promise
Feed warm solace to pigeons in the park
I need heaven to smile
The sky needs to open its mouth wide
So stars come alive
I need my words to become famous
To cavort thru adolescent eyes
Paper makes a prisoner of trees
Standing alone silent in the breeze

This shrinking violet that created Man
A fragile pawn of innocence
So many years
Why must I shrivel and die
Why must this tree ravage my fruits
I'm laid bare, this visible me

I don't get treated like a human being
I must be an animal
This spurious collage of this mange dog
Life is ruff

Prose rattles my cage
To be the doormat of inane
Speak the truth as they dance on graves
Hollow angst will marinade, too little too late
Meaning evaporates, banal finds gray in this toothless parade

Cardboard and concrete
The gutter dance
Poison slithers thru their veins
Comatose victims of pain

Public litter
Use to call him Dave
Detached distain
On public display

From the inside, out
Voices dither
Skeletons wither
Chaos soon will rain

***** dreams
Dumpster fein
Needle malaise

Unseen, invisible
A scab of existence
Bleak
Underbelly
Deranged

Demise
White
Porcelain
Overflowing
Unashame­d
Last vein

My tree branch lowers
To caress a petal of rose
Fragrant tease
Ashamed interlude
Succulent muse
To stand over
Admire its bloom
Demure and radiant
I quiver a leaf
So it can enjoy

Our shadows follow
mimic our moves
This doppelgänger, this muse
They go away at night
Living another life
Nocturnal nap, waiting for sunrise
They patiently hide, biding their time
Lifelong companion
Silent partner
Thinner version of you

This light that follows me
I love its caress
Never let me live in darkness
Bathe me until I am whole

Can I bathe in this nocturnal gloom
As night drowns in solitude
Unfurl the ocean to slumber
An infants blanket to sleep
I will carry the moon on my back
Lift it high as midnight returns
Symbiotic, perhaps absurd
Ask if I need sunlight , I do
But this ebony patina is my metallic cocoon

I breath in infamy
Inhale chunky desolate clouds to puff my chest
Live ,love  Ode to Adam and Eve
Ears see , eyes hear
Bloated hearts congeal concocted bliss
Ragged ice in a queer delusion
the curvature of honey, first glance , first kiss

My heart is free to live or die
Let it be rambunctious
Let it swim with women
Who know its intent
Immerse it in color
Lick its wounds with the tongue of regret
Let it dream of love
Past and present tense
Will it open wide to harvest your scent
I need it to grow old and savor sublime
This beauty you hold
I admire in awe

Journeys leap from pages of old
Eloquent  exchanges gilded in gold
Breathe out over distant lands
This new world entices languishing  souls
Pay penance to wisdom for God and country
Punish people with dalliance, a solemn requiem
Story are told from those on high
We open are mouths; a soiled demise
Relinquish a heart from strained etiquette
Vile  contempt pushed thru bowels
Vision evaporate beyond folly and frame
Lingering solace wane towards the abyss
Vengeance will tether; the ball and the chain

The ground below me whispers
Moist , subtle breath of remnants remain
This chorus , this heartbeat
It lingers amongst strangers
as they celebrate in hush memoirs
Again and again
Drinking from eternities glass
This overflowing canard as voices collide
We all just wait
"Grass is greener"  some people say


Who let the dogs out

For the casket of the fallen
On the backs of the brave
Uncommon is the valor
For a soldiers final day

Cornbread is the concrete
Kentucky blue grass a fertile mane
Gravy is the mothers milk
For this bond that we share
This country music love affair

The statue of a common place
The willow supply my shade
Elvis grinning like a butchers dog
The heart of Dixie fades away

For a song of redemption
Fields of wheat and waves of grain
Tree roots caress a coffins hold
A country music serenade

You, liquid woman permeates canvas to paint
I blink, blossomed smile capitulates rhymes, supple nuance with grace
Ink flow saturates veins
Gluten of synopsis , her molecular taste
Celestial pixels flower in stream
Better angels aloft,  cradle of lucid esteem
Evolve, life pangs, queen for a day, your carriage awaits

Storms knock on closed doors
Windows seek out vacant souls
Tomorrow brings today as we levitate in pain
Shadows linger amongst vivid dreams

Black clouds beckon; calling out my name
The grey swells of normalcy
Death, taxes; medicated haze
Our bones rattle; virginity, chastity, abstain
Metaphoric pillows yearn to be free
Why must I be tormented by flesh
I tease it; it tortures me.

Polite society
To twist in wind
This vapid  angst of mouth to words
***** secular sentences so grass can grow
This scarlet letter ,this anchor
For whom will this bell toll
If I open my eyes
Will I once again hemorrhage scars
When I remove my disguise

Black is mentioned in darkness
Blindfolded pragmatist see but don't believe that light will
puncture childhood dreams . blank wall harbor old wounds
Mockingbirds mock  the raven squawks a dire truth
Man moves his lecherous snout ,spreading his seed
The tree will cringe, yield its heart to the untoward
Man may eventually return to walking on all fours

I am eight, I dream
Not of missiles that permeate rooftops
From dream to reality

Here I lay
Powdered concrete fills my nostrils
Schoolgirl crush, shards of glass, metal beams
Breath,Breath

Scars of misery
Souls that linger
Voices screams
War is pungent and mean
I am eight, I bleed

Soft floral hangover brought on by beige innuendo
Pastel sobriety wanes during my chocolate rage
Overflowing burgundy mishaps engrained in my blooming psyche
This stage I perform on abloom under caramel clouds
I wade knee deep in banana flora

Will my weary thoughts fill this page
I do not thrive like the ****
I do not possess the beauty of a flower
I will not be nurtured or praised
To strive for sunlight
Let the rain wash it away
From every crack of my existence
They will invade
Weeds never die
Like little white lies
