Lost to time.
Jimmy silker Jan 24
Some of the planets
Went for a walk tonight
There was a brief moment
After sunset the air was clear
Like silly sharp
It stretched
And became
A big moment
Carried on
Into the dark
Supposedly six
But deffo saw one
That red ****** Mars
Was in the place they claimed it would be
But I'm pretty sure
I saw at least a couple o the others
They were sort of in a line
But then it clouded over
And got lost to time.

We're like a big tuna casserole
That's been remicrowaved
One too many times.

That dog that climbed to the top o the great pyramid
Had more than a touch o the jackel
Panting ,looking down ,481 feet off the ground
People aghast at how it could happen

He's a dog! I opine
So just keep in mind
That's what some brave doggies do
He's not got our fear
He just wants to bound clear
O the earth
And our human to-do

There's ancient peace up there
He projects back through the years
To be with his full blooded ancestors
Stood at once near the peak
***** his leg for a leak
At ease with his familial protectors.

There's some places you go
Where the mantle is thin
And there's just enough cracks
In the crust to begin
To let something through
With no shape and no size
No essence of anything
On which to rely
For definition
Or earthly ken
Makes you start to remember
Of occurrences when

You've felt this before

Kefalonia
Central Glascow
The street where you live
The whole nation of Ireland
These locations all give
Pause for thought
On what is and what ain't
The nature of fact
Though it's incredibly faint
I felt it most pronounced
Outside Cozzarelli's in Belleville New Jersey
Over ten years later
Still makes me uneasy.
Jimmy silker Aug 15
There's a rare aroma
If you think you've got the nose
So High and subtle
To not many exposed
It's the fragrance
Released by grass
Just before it gets mowed
Washed with notes of
Acceptance and Terror
It knows it part
You might suppose.

The jaws.
Jimmy silker Sep 10
He's got you in his teeth
It's worse for him than you
Cos when he dies
From the absess
You can simply push on through
Out the mouth
Out the prison
Out into the light
Don't look back
Just walk forward
Everything
Will be alright.

The ****** of the old
The brake of the new
The opposite
Of which
You want to do
As long as it's funny
Then that's what
We have gone through
As long as the
Essence
Is pure and true.

The titles o two very similar books
Concerning  previous and subsequent looks
The founding of places,laboratories really
Trying to figure the graft that might nearly
Make life a thing you painfully get through
Instead of infection,agony and death
Slow suffocation
They couldn't **** down their neck

A man named Gillies raised his hand
Said I've got an idea you may not understand
Though it seems like hubris so far unheard of
And I think I can lessen
The pain of these heroes
If I cut flesh and ribs from below
And transplant to the visage
Cross fingers,let grow
Hope for untainted stitchage
Then repeat the move again and again
We might drag a few o these poor souls
Out o Hell

The Germans and Yanks
Of course tried their own stuff
But the definitive work was done down in Sidcup
There's remarkable pictures
In the above mentioned tomes
Of a type o recovery
Of faces so torn
And shredded
And crushed
And left in the mud
A testament to
Those who lost more than blood

So when you see the faces of the foolish and vain
Know the source their reform
Was enlisted men's pain.

You'll be welcomed into Hell
And not tortured
They have a place set aside
It's an orchard
Where the fruits are so sweet
Cos the roots go so deep
And you get a boss view
Of the torment.

We saw swans on the beacons that beckon
Each of us high as six kites
Eighteen combined
That's what I reckon
As we stared into they harsh light

Fresh off the Ferris wheel
Opposite the big top
We wobbled through the sparse crowd
Through feedback demonic
And swirling black smoke
Walked into
The kingdom o loud

As the drums fell off of Everest
And the bass came up from hell
I knew I couldn't be there
Yet to stay I was compelled

Rooted to the earth
Speared through both feet
By sonic ******* tent pegs
From which there was no relief

Almost three hours later
Battered and near haf deaf
Good lord I thought
For these *******
They need to invent
An extra clef.

They shrink when
You're not looking
Makes it hard to commentate
You forget which one
Your fathers bet on
In their prime

Once of the earth
Then boulder
Size slowly disapates
Stone
Pebble
Dust
The race is won
Way past your time.

It's bin raining all day
Lightning rolled through
Just now
The scaffold near
Pressed agin my window
I survived it
Somehow.
Doing coke with Jack Nicholson
Walking the fells with Wainwright
Stood by Ole Romer's telescope
As he mulled the speed of light
Being that defender
Cruyff first turned
Watching Marie Curie work
Till Aplastic Anemia
Robbed her of her life

Walking well through fire
With Bukowski
And if you will allow me
In all them situations
You'd be alone with the gods.

Enzo.
Jimmy silker Jul 11
Working both floors
Like Joe Calzaghe
A flurry unrelenting
The nous to back off a bit

Moulded from a lad
By his dad
The cool Enzo
Who took over
When his trainer
Went silenzio

Bolstered the gym
Raised two other
World champions
In the small town of Newbridge
How could that have happened

Pushed Joe
When he was not sure
On and on and on
His boy he implored

To look within
And find more than himself
Through bust hands
And self doubt
Till there's nowt left

Enzo knew
Joey was about
To destroy
Three killers
Before he clocked out.

To be eaten by yourself
Is madness of course
How can you put the blame

To chase that loss

Relies on the past.

Small.
Jimmy silker May 16
We don't want to be small
Even compared to one another
Cos it's better
Generally speaking
To be tall rather
Than little
That don't take long to discover
Then you turn
To the trees
The mountains
And the continents
You imagine yourself
Traipsing round the world
Just how many steps
Would that take?
The solar system
The Milky Way
The local groups
The endless days
They move away
And loop round to the beginning
To every point in time
And each place
Along the line
In the vacuum
You are aware of
Creation singing
It Sits on
The cosmic fence
Of this bubble universe
Mixed with the countless
In an eternal
Glass of beer
That sits upon a table
In a bar
That is quite able
To hold infinity
And it's the smallest
Gaff in town.

Time's flywheel

They used to call him the ironmonger
For he'd make a bolt for the door
When it was his turn at the bar
His wallet was in his other jacket
He'd be back in a minute
Just round the corner
It wasent far
It became a sort of art form
One that I couldn't help applaud
His bald faced brass balledness
Deffo could not be ignored
But there is a craft
To chicanery
If done with a bit of charm
It provides its own amusement
So really where's the harm?
Others were driven *****
It made them twist and ****
But I always appreciate
A master hard at work.

You've got to joyfully participate in the sorrows of the world
Not matter what the cause
There's no polishing a ****
beauty is in the eye o the beholder
Children should be seen and not heard
What does it profit a man who gains the whole world
And loses his soul?
The only way to stay moss free
Is to continually roll
Many a  slip twixst a cup and a lip
A single step the start o a thousand mile trip
What goes around comes around
Now that's deffo not true

What's that force?
That hits your alfactory
When your on holiday
In a far foreign land
As the sun dips
Always coastal
So the ozone lends a hand
It's above the
Charring meat
Sauteing veg
The roasting garlic
And the sharp tang off of the grill
It's the difference in memory
That's why it lives there still.
Jimmy silker Feb 11
These statues if they were not cracked or chipped
Would seem to be recent finished
Not long passed
Just a bit
Like the final polish
Applied only minutes past
Glowed under lamplight
As shadows cast
Toward the doors
Of the inner sanctum
Which then are sealed
Against the millennium
And then another
Yet two more
Sat still in darkness
Gathering stour
After sands had shifted
And shifted back
Monied raiders
Gave the seal a crack
Now they stare over your head in the great museums
Disgusted that the proles can see them.

There's a blanket
Of fresh buttercups
Upon the mound
The pigeons
Don't know what to make of em
They think they're food
Nutrients to be found
First they peck

As the taste don't seem quite right
Doesn't stop the silly ******* though
Seems to send em
Into overdrive.

Your average life will last 72 years
864 months of blood sweat and tears

That complete existence
Will move but one degree
Just 359 more
Then the cycle is complete

Equinoctial precession
Wobbles ever on
Unending celestial journey
Drags us all along

From pole star to pole star
Each house has its time in the sun
12 times over 2000 years
Aquarius about to become
The one that hovers over
Up above our heads for life
Recording the worlds horrors
Its beauty and its strife

As we wave goodbye to Pisces
And turn with renewed care
We know our 3 score and 12
Is just a day
In the Great Year.

25,920 years is the length o the track
So stand here ******* long enough
you'll catch yourself coming back.

That scene in breaking bad
Jessie's been
Relentlessly listening
To his dead girlfriends
Outgoing message
For weeks on end
On a loop
In a tunnel
He sought to pretend

Mid cycle
The provider
Cuts it off
Replaced with
A tinny ersatz ladies's voice

The number you have called does not exist

About one of the loneliest
Depictions that I have seen
I felt my vertebrae tighten
The sadness obscene.
Guilt and longing.

The cabbie who took me and my ma from hospital to home
Straight away started in with a tale all alone
Out of a clear blue sky
Struck in the head
And then by lightning
Boiled his innards
Popped his bones
Broke his head
Did the damage you might imagine
He was dead for awhile
Met his grandparents and God
They played Snap they were all smiles
Until it was deemed time for him to come back
He's wrote a book called
LIGHTNING MAN
I suggest you read it
It's remarkable
He's just doing whatever he can.

When McCartney goes
The seas will boil
Everest will crumble
The crops will spoil
Immovable objects
Will get shunted aside
Unstoppable forces
Will have the brakes applied
When McCartney shuffles off
Every dog will cry
The tortoises
Will all pull in their heads/legs/tails and die
When McMartney joins the choir
The world will feel a chill
Sadness on Penny Lane
The fool has left the hill
When McCartney throws a six
There will be a global tremor
But take comfort in the fact
Ringo will live forever

The Collossi Of Memnon
Used to sing at dawn
On account of
Channels expertly hewn
A melody
That came straight from the gods
In a gust of sand
Across the dessert
Against the odds
They don't sing no more
The monoliths worn
And patched
In sullen silence
From the heavens detached.

Of the friction
Between

But it's a Hollywood fight
Smoke and mirrors
Gravitational lenses
Viewed from the right angle
You can't tell the bar stool is made out of matchsticks
The camera placement as the cowboy slips the punch
The sheriff thrown through the sugar glass
Then it's a wrap for lunch
Or a Star Wars effort
Claiming they got two suns
We knew they were kidding
When the space telescopes come
Now with the Jimmy Webb

Cos by the time he got to Phoenix

Relax your neck
