Oh Angelique
yesterday’s hubris
ached my heart
chasing too many Tennessee's.
The colours of red and blue
swirl your Boutique wine and
midnight perfumery.
The night before makes
a fool of my outwards intentions
There's an unrequited discipline
ripping my heart

Smile at the smiling man
Dance in the sky's shadow,
eyeing a hawthorn tree
See your butterflies  fly
Walking promenades
Seeing fortune in the sky
breath in the elixir of the air
Apples and meadows
spiders, tears in your eyes
There's no reason
please don't ask why
Song of a mossy bank
emerald days
everything is under the sky

Its September
Where is your rain muse ?
weve got our Autumn here
I'm drawing a line
on Summer past
like some bedraggled piston
its  chore has gone
The buddleia is slightly drawn
and the red roses have died down
The Fern tree is re-splendid
in its promise
potted under my Robina
There's spinach and broad beans
for spring

In my room with its broken latch
There's postcards of incongruous hens and foxes
and a disused TV set
There's a collection of analogue cameras
Some I use
Some for show
Some of my light bulb's are out
they need replacing soon
There's a book of Trakl and his Blue Melancholy
and Sylvia Plath with her German Mannequins
There's albums out of time
Brian Short  and Jimmy Campbell
You see the past comforts me
There's poetry of my own
some bonded
others nestling on my cupboard shelf
I hope to get published soon

Your album cover
Anything for a Laugh
seems candlelight lit
arched churchways
and smoke from village Chimneys
angel clouds jettisoning
sepia daybreak
with yellow filter

You died in Newcastle
broken by the rain,
your name unknown
only one album
and a few writing credits
cherished by the select

Letters were mad hat interlopers
I couldnt decipher them
Eeties at Hoppies
was my diction for
Sweets at Shops
when i was four
Its hard being a dyslexic
Oh boy I feel so out of it
with my younger sisters
picking it up so easily
I eagerly learnt new words by sound alone
but sometimes I miscued
like my Surname
I felt half baked
but my love of History became my bastion
****** laid down by my Father
I had something to boast
to my peers about

Have you changed ?
did you follow the summer ?
until the storm got in your way !
Have you occasioned the calling ?
did you shape the world through your telescope ?
Was the universe caring ?
did you wait for the fall ?
when it returned
not caring enough
Did you ever capture your tears
from the falling rain ?
Was grace tantamount
when you sighed at the World ?
